Just got back from our small GOP town local peace vigil
Edited on Fri Mar-26-04 01:12 PM by Mari333
things are heating up folks..I kind of knew they would...people out there for Bush are pissed..watch your backs. Got some evil looks today as I was driving, (with my peace stickers on car), and then had a number of people yelling at us "IF THE TROOPS DONT LIKE IT THEY SHOULDNT HAVE SIGNED UP" and then they run away as I tell them "YOUR KID WILL BE DRAFTED NEXT SIR"..then they really run away
Lots of peace signs from people and honks also.
The best thing was, a VET showed up at the vigil. That made all the difference in the world.
I pray to god more Vets show up. They even attack me verbally as the mother of a soldier in Iraq, but the Vets being there really helps a lot.
anyway, I hope more Vets show up next week.
I think it will get uglier before it gets better tho.

1. Combat Vets
That show up at antiwar/peace protests are the best.

Whenever some freeper chickenhawk shows up and tries to talk shit, they shut them up with one simple question: And what war did you serve in?

I've seen it happen.

even I , as a mother of a soldier in Iraq, mean nothing to these people. They are angry , mad, and mean bastards.
The Vets lend all credence, and I pray they start showing up even more.
I also called my sons friend, Officer here in town, to find out how my husband and I can obtain a concealed weapons permit and get a weapon. Im serious. This is a VERY small town. People know where I live.
Could get dangerous.

and Im not in the mood to be a martyr.

3. do they even...
know why they're so angry at us?

Who the hell is 'pro war'? Who's MAKING those "War Is The Answer"
bumperstickers? They're not even ironic (like cafe press' "Powered
By Iraqi Blood" bumperstickers)

Are they so in LOVE with Bush that they don't want ANYTHING
he does to turn into a failure and maybe prevent them from
having 100% of their agenda?

Are they so in LOVE with our killing other people, even for
spurrious reasons?

Are they so in LOVE with their country that anyone who even
DISAGREES with it must be eliminated? THAT's ironic (paging
Alanis Morissette...).

Are they so in LOVE with their STUFF and desire for MORE
stuff they will risk global war to get it?

I'm puzzled.
