"Missed Chances in Hunt for Condoleezza Rice"
Search for Dr. Rice Lacked Urgency, Clarke Alleges

The United States “came close” on several occasions to finding missing National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice but failed to do so because the Bush White House did not feel that locating Dr. Rice was a top priority, former counterterrorism chief Dick Clarke alleged today.

In startling testimony before Congress, Mr. Clarke said that the search for the elusive Dr. Rice had been “littered with missed opportunities.”

“One time I thought I saw her scurrying down the hall, and I yelled, ‘wait up,’ but she was gone,” Mr. Clarke said. “From that moment on, I tried to convince the White House that finding Condoleezza Rice should be the nation’s number one priority.”

1. Hilarious.
Maybe if he cut her taxes she'd come out of hiding.

2. Not funny. I expect Condi to disappear soon.
Probably on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, unreachable.

" Rice has impeccable credentials. She worked for the elder George Bush in the White House, handling Russian issues. She is a distinguished fellow at the Hoover Institution and former provost of Stanford University. Rice is very close to former Clinton Secretary of Defense William Perry. Rice worked with Perry and the Clinton administration during her term at Stanford. The Clinton White House once mentioned her as being on the short list for secretary of state."
