Will These Young People be Drafted?
Will they serve in their president's wars when he calls?

4. Whattadya mean? There's White, Whiter, and Whitest.
There's an occasional self-loathing Asian who is probably ridiculed unmericifully when she is out of the room.

27. What do you mean?
There are probably Catholics, Protestants, Methodists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Baptists, and even some Jewish in those groups!:eyes:

10. Hell, help them out...
hand deliver the enlistment papers as RationalRose was kind enough to do in her hometown. Everyone should have them on their person when they see these probushies and help them save time. Wouldn't that make an awesome report that the D's are out recruiting the R's for the draft!

7. i'm guessing not.
Mainly because:

a) they're financially secure enough to be in college
b) none of them appear to be Latino or African-American

(Okay, I take that back...I see that they did manage to sneak a token African-American into the third photo.)

11. Actually Yes They Can
Under the new guidelines for the draft the males would only be exempt
until they graduate, if any of them are already enrolled in Graduate
Studies, they will only be exempt until they graduate from that program.

Most of the allowed exemptions that were in place during the Vietnam War, no longer exist. So all the smiling faces, that are male will be subject to the draft.

In other words they're not as safe as they think they are, and only people who can give BushCo lots of cash will be safe.

13. Look at the lack of diversity in those pictures...
all I see is white people.

Oh, and by the way, if you were to look at some of those people, they need to go into the military. They look like they need the exercise.

15. I handed out enlistment forms to them--you should have seen the attitudes
This was at the protest yesterday in Boston. one said he served, the other said he was too young, and all the others looked at me with disdain, looking like they wouldn't deign to serve in the armed forces with the lower classes.

21. Hehehe
I told one that one time :)

He started yelling that I didn't know what I was talking about. . . until I told him that I'd spent 8 years in the Army and had a pretty good clue and could state for a fact he probably wouldn't survive the 25 mile road march with the 75 lb. ruck sack) :).

Sometimes it's a lot of fun being a liberal vet (or ex-military member since I didn't actually serve in any war or anything) :)

That's cool-my dad has gotten into it with a few of these armchair warriors. And he's in his 70s and could probably kick their asses.

23. All in the US . .
Did Basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, then Advanced training at Ft. Benning.

Then became an instructor at the National Training Center at Ft. Irwin, CA for several years (training specifically on tactics for the TOW anti-tank missile system and the M901 vehicle that carries it).

After that went into the National Guard and finished my time in the California National Guard. Closest I came to "action" was the L.A. Riots in '92.

All told I was in from '87 to '95.

Your dad sounds like he'd get along with my step-dad pretty well. My step-dad is a Vietnam vet who despises Bush. He retired from the National Guard in 2002 (after a one year deployment just after 9/11 to guard some damn up in Washington State).

Im printing out a bunch of enlistment forms for some of the assholes who yell at me at our peace vigil. Its time to start handing them out. Im going to carry them in my car too, when Im stopped at lights and hassled for my stance, which happens a lot. I figure thats one way to shut them up.
thanks Rose.(((hugs)))

24. Rose-- do you have a link, or can you send or PM them?
I'd love to take a look.

I've gotten slack the last couple of weeks since the Dean campaign ended. I could be doing more.

Thanks!

25. I should thank them, actually.
Cause they are going to be paying off my tax cut long after I've retired. My taxes are several hundred per year less, because they are willing to borrow the money to allow me to cut my taxes.

26. Some of them look too fat
Others will suddenly discover they have a "bad knee" or a large pimple on their asses. Others will have Mommy and Daddy have a little chat with the draft board "do you know who we are?"

28. It looks wrong
It just doesn't feel right looking at people, especially young people holding up pro-Bush posters. Unless you're a Televangelist and/or in the Upper Class, Bush hasn't done much for the rest of us. And I am certain it won't be the sons of Televangelists or those in the Upper Class that will be drafted.

31. Wow.
I've been blinded by the white of the fright right.

What a nasty collection of soft white people. These are the same amazing group of intellectual blunderers who wouldn't join the military even if it jumped up and bit them hard on their collective pimply right winged asses. However, they certainly expect everybody else to sign up and die.
