Could Repugs tell Bush to do an LBJ if Clarke damages them?
Just a thought that occurred to me this week. And when I went out to the web to find out when LBJ did that famous speech, the anniversary is next week. March 31st. Coincidentally the day Air America hits the airwaves to start countering the last decade plus of propaganda.

"With America's sons in the fields far away, with America's future under challenge right here at home, with our hopes and the world's hopes for peace in the balance every day, I do not believe that I should devote an hour or a day of my time to any personal partisan causes or to any duties other than the awesome duties of this office--the Presidency of your country. Accordingly, I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President."

3. Actually I hope AWOL stays in cause I think he'd be easier
to defeat than if they put up someone like Rudy G, or Hagel, or even McCain.

2. I've been thinking about this, too.
Clarke alone won't be enough, but if all the separate commissions investigating trouble for * start to hit the radar of the American public, the Republicans may decide to simply ditch *

I don't know if this would succeed or not. * and the rest of his family would fight it tooth and nail.

4. The GOP would be in chaos
Dick would lose in a 50 state landslide and they all know it, and it's really too short of time to mount a proper campaign...

5. An interesting idea.
As I am of the opinion that once re-elected the neo-cons will throw Bush to the wolves and install Cheney, he would be saving his (retirement) bacon as well as sticking it to Cheney.

Bush however, would never do something like do his fucking job at the expense of the campaign. He would only be motived by something venal.

6. if they had half a brain between them, they would
I've been saying that for months.

Lucky for us, they'll stick with Shrub and all go down in his ship.

7. They don't dare. They realize dick cheney isn't as "popular" as bush is.

They're stuck with him. Besides, he's WAY too proud, arrogant, and self-entitled to do that. TRUE nobility is not his style. It's only the fake nobility he knows.
