Is it just me?
Or does the whole gay-marraige debate basically boil down to the question: Do you think homosexuality is normal, equal, tolerable, groovy, etc?

I really dislike it when gay-marraige opponents pretend they respect gay people's lifestyle choices.

1. It's not a lifestyle choice. Is heterosexuality a lifestyle choice?
It's innate.

2. People are emotion-based
So they decide their feelings about gay marraige on their
"morals," not the law and civil rights.
[sarcasm]That's why I'm glad that we have such a fine,
upstanding administration that looks at the issues in a fair
and balanced way.[/sarcasm]

5. exactly. it's an 'identity' 'issue'
it boils down to 'who's side are you on?'

what else would you expect from a uniter, not a divider?

6. Naw - here's the question:
Do you support equal rights?

If it's not homosexuality, it would be something else with these people.

7. I think the real issue is money !
It wouldn't surprise me to learn that some insurance co lobbyist gave *dumbya the whole no gay marriage idea. It would just kill these insurance companies to have to pay for a dependant's AIDS meds. Call me cynical, but with this bunch it always seems to come down to money.

10. Money
is not the issue here. IT has to do with the religious rights need to control every aspect of a person thinking. They are total control freaks.

11. What really boils my
spaghetti is that the so-called Christians believe in Creation. But they can't take the fact that God created us ALL. Homophobes are so stupid.

14. well, i can Devil Advocate that one...
G-d created humankind to enjoy and glory in his creation...or so the story goes. G-d also created humans with desires such as sex and homosexuality. G-d wants people to use their free will to resist such temptations to prove their love.

ok, total bs, but that is some people's viewpoint

12. No - it's civil rights. Plain and simple.
Edited on Sat Mar-27-04 11:48 AM by GOPisEvil
14th Amendment - ALL persons are entitled to equal protection under the law. ALL persons means ALL persons.

I can be for someone's civil rights, even if I disagree with that person's lifestyle. (For example, I think the KKK has every right to march publicly as I do.)
