5. West Virginia (and to a lesser degree, Ohio), because ... |
|
... the left-populist issue of jobs is finally neutralizing and overwhelming the right-populist issues of guns & God.

because I believe Teresa Heinz Kerry will pull in many votes for JK. As a former Pennsylvanian, it is hard to believe that this is no longer a "Democratic stronghold" and considered a battle ground.

There is a strong and organized Kerry presence right up until election day. If he relies on local county dem parties or the state party, he loses.

16. We'll have to fix that then, won't we? |
|
We have enough time to re-organize and mobilize the state's resources and apply them more effectively than they have in the past. I can't help with that, but let's get to it!

11. Florida. The Medicare fiasco is biting Bush. |
|
People don't like $530 billion give-aways to HMOs and drug companies disguised as help for the elderly.
And the fact that the Bushies purposely hid $130 billion of the cost until after the "squeaker" vote looks really, really bad.
I also think that Jeb fatigue (still hasn't solved the school overcrowding problem) and black voter outrage over election 2000 give us an edge.
Florida needs international election monitors this time.
