1. I remember reading about her

some time back (at least I think it is the same person) A lawyer she hired because of FBI harrassment connected her with the 911 widows who heard her story and were trying to get permission for her to testify before the 911 commission, but influential people were blocking the testimony at the time. Don't know whether anything happened yet on that front or not. Definitely a story to keep tabs on.

spoke with Tom Flocco last night...story was picked up by Vanity Fair and CBS 69 minutes pre 9/11 ...I posted it earlier on the general discussion board and got two replies....this is proof of coverup and we need to spread the word...also briefly mentioned on Crossfire on Friday....

A former FBI translator told the 9/11 commission that the bureau had detailed information well before Sept. 11, 2001, that terrorists were likely to attack the U.S. with airplanes.

A former FBI wiretap translator with top-secret security clearance, who has been called "very credible" by Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, has told Salon she recently testified to the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States that the FBI had detailed information prior to Sept. 11, 2001, that a terrorist attack involving airplanes was being plotted.

Referring to the Homeland Security Department's color-coded warnings instituted in the wake of 9/11, the former translator, Sibel Edmonds, told Salon, "We should have had orange or red-type of alert in June or July of 2001. There was that much information available." Edmonds is offended by the Bush White House claim that it lacked foreknowledge of the kind of attacks made by al-Qaida on 9/11. "Especially after reading National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice where she said, we had no specific information whatsoever of domestic threat or that they might use airplanes. That's an outrageous lie. And documents can prove it's a lie."

4. It got a mention on Crossfire Friday afternoon.

On Crossfire, Paul Begala used the Edmond's statement to backup his on-air claim that Condi was a liar after the repug spokesmen said how everyone in Washington, Democrat and Repub alike, had the utmost confidence in Condi's integrity. Tucker wrote it off as just another crazy conspiracy theory.

Also later that evening I saw Paul and Tucker being interviewed by the blond bimbo Paula Zahn who almost dropped out of her chair onto her ass when Begala repeated the charge that Condi was a liar. Again Paul used Edmonds' statement to back up his claim. All the while Tucker had a look on his face like he had just eaten a sour prune. He said if it was eventually proven that the White House had foreknowledge of 9/11 attacks, he would vote for Dennis Kucinich. Careful Tucker, remember how you had to eat your shoes not too long ago.

Edmonds' charge comes when the Bush White House is trying to fend off former counterterrorism chief Richard A. Clarke's testimony that it did not take serious measures to combat the threat of Islamic terrorism, and al-Qaida specifically, in the months leading up to 9/11.
