Hey! I bought my copy of "Against All Enemies" at Walmart!
Edited on Sat Mar-27-04 04:24 PM by DianeG5385
I was completely shocked to see it on the bookshelf and there were only two copies left, one of which I bought. Of course I live in Sonoma County CA, which is a bit more progressive than Arkansas, but still, they usually only carry those swept away or whatever the name is books prominently.

I know, Walmart is destroying our economy, but my 13 yr old autistic son has a Saturday morning ritual where we go to Walmart and buy candy and shampoo. He's a clean kid!

Anyways, I am looking forward to reading the book and sharing it with as many people as I can!

1. I won't go to WalMart
but I might check out the locally owned book store to see if they have it. If they do it should be very interesting, as this is conservative NW Arkansas.

16. Ayeshahaqqiqa, where are you in NW Arkansas?
I went to high school in Rogers back in the 1980's. You've got that right about it being conservative. Conservative and Baptist. I moved there from Montreal. Talk about your culture shock.

Hats off to you for staying out of Wal*Mart in NW Arkansas. Are there even any alternatives? Do you have a Target?

5. Well if you have to go...
probably not a bad idea to keep progressive books moving.

10. Please, not Wal-Mart.
I would never set foot in Wal-Mart; they exploit cheap labor and keep up with extreme union busting. They also buy junk products from only the most repressive governments.

11. I said the same thing, but hadn't read the entire post
know anything about autism?

sometimes exceptions must be made

taking him somewhere else would be like, oh, say, taking away chimpyboy's favorite PILLOW, say

OR, his favorite bottle of Jack Black!

15. Wal-Mart is evil, BUT...
Edited on Sat Mar-27-04 05:27 PM by HypnoToad
I must confess I bought Star Trek V there because it was $6 cheaper, and I'd never pay more than $15 for that one anyway... I saw it the day they had Trek VI, the movie nobody else had in stock.

And wal-mart isn't the only one (destroying the country).

I make it a habit NOT to go there unless I've an emergency. Which is very rare.

To me, all big corporations are the same these days. Next of kin to evil, if not being pure evil. 1 Timothy 6:10.

17. Mine arrived today!!
Along with "House of Bush, House of Saud." I'm so excited I don't know which one to start with. Knowing me, I'll probably read them both at the same time. I usually have about 5 books going at the same time.

18. I've checked Walmart
as well as the big booksellers to no avail so far. I know how important repetition is with autism and the difficulty with transitions. I have a 19 yr old autistic son. It looks though, he will go to college.
