Another reason not to shop WalMart. Sorry if this is a dupe.
I got this from democrats.com. My husband and I never go into the store for all the obvious reasons but this is just ridiculous.

Take Action: Wal-Mart Refuses to Sell MoveOn's 'Unpatriotic' Iraq Movie
"If you're looking to buy a copy of Robert Greenwald's superb documentary, 'Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War,' don't go to your local Wal-Mart. Anderson Merchandising, the company that picks the movies that are sold in the retail chain, has told the distributor of the movie that the film is 'unpatriotic' and inappropriate for Wal-Mart. The decision is a form of censorship because Wal-Mart is one of the largest outlets in terms of CD and DVD sales, and is often the only retail source in smaller communities. If you want to protest Wal-Mart's decision, you can either call the company headquarters at 1-479-273-4000 email them through the website. The address for snail mail is: Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., 702 S.W. 8th Street, Bentonville, AR 72716"

1. Corporate Censorship
Is the biggest threat to free speech in our country right now, as this story, the Howard Stern/Clear Channel story, and the CBS/MoveOn/Reagan movie proves.

Madness.

3. WRONGO!!!!!!!!!!!! We must go there and demand they carry it.
Yes, the corporation is evil.

Most of them are, in case you hadn't noticed.

What shall we do? Sounds like Democrats.com gave us the number to call and complain with.

I'll call and complain, even if it does no good because I'm only a customer in a supply-side system where the supply side gets more benefit than the demand side, which is us...

4. This is
typical from walmart. They censor everything. Music, movies, and I wouldn't doubt that they'd censor politics too.

5. Probably don't sell ....
.... any of Michael Moore's books or DVD's either, but you can still buy bullets baby! The thing that really chaps my hide about Wally World is that ever since Sam died, they've totally given up on their "Buy American" challenge. They always sold imported goods, but if they could buy a pair of work gloves Made In China for $1.00, they would buy them from any American vendor who could meet the price. Now they just lowball everything, in terms of price and quality. They still have their red, white and blue everywhere, but I dare you to find an garment that was made in America.

There are also Wal-Mart's that refuse to stock Plan B (morning after pills). That's fine if there's another pharmacy in town, but in some small towns, Wal-Mart is IT.

6. Greewald should sue for slander.
Labelling something as "Unpatriotic" is a clear attempt to defame a piece of work, and suppressing it's distribution is tantamount to censorship. I'm not a lawyer, but Starr Jones would agree with me.:D

7. Tell them this is America
In the past, it has been for free speech and wasn't fascist.

10. I think they should sell it
But I am wary of the government telling stores what they must sell...

I just see all the independent bookstores and recors dtores being inundated with corporate merchandise they have to sell....

8. Why would they even want to sell at Wal-Mart?
Wal-Mart is associated with total crap, and most MoveOn supporter's probably woudn't want to give the Waltons any more money.

I can understand why they're upset about the statement, but I've been in Wal-Mart. It isn't any big loss.
