Who's playing "politics" with the 911 Commission?
Democrats and/or Republicans? It seems to me that the Repubs have been playing politics since since the idea of a Commission was first suggested? And then they tried to get Kissinger as the Chairman of the Commission.

I suppose we should try and define just what "playing politics" really means? If one side wants to get to the truth about 9/11 and they take a partisan approach, is that really "playing politics"? If one side attempts to hide evidence and does not want the truth to come out because it may be politically damaging, are they "playing politics"?

The Repubs are the ones that are mostly accusing the Democrats of "playing politics" but I think the truth is the exact opposite. It is the Repubs that do not want Condi to testify and it is the Repubs that are assassinating the character of Dick Clarke. It is George W Bush himself that is blocking the Aug 6 PDB from being made public because it would be so damaging to him and the Repubs. Now who is "playing politics"?

1. Mainly the Repubs.
The Dems are willing to have the commission look at everything, even if it means some dirt gets thrown on Clinton's administration. The Repubs don't want to reveal any weaknesses on Bush, Inc.'s part.

2. Repugs
just as you described

they desparately want to hide the truth

I didn't watch every minute, but I watched several hours and saw zero evidence of overt partisanship by the Dems. The Repugs, on the other hand, flogged exactly the GOP talking points party line.

Disgraceful. I've come to despise them.
