If you ever watched "I, Claudius" and read Tacitus/Suetonious who's actual history were cribbed and embellished to write it, then you know what I'm talking about.

When Livia murdered Augustus (a historical fact, not an embellishment) by smearing poison on the figs, Augustus KNEW that she would try to kill him and he took what steps he could. What he COULDN'T do (or wouldn't...same thing in the end) is to have his wife watched by security or take other steps to prevent her from killing him.

So he died. Same thing with Raygun. He cannot escape the clutches of the Busheviks in the same way Augustus couldn't escape his own Imperial Doctors, some of whom conspired with and helped Livia, probably.

Raygun is in the exact same spot as Raygun was. His killers are those tasked with his protection.

Today a radio report mentioned UBL might already be dead,killed in recent fighting, but no body has been found.

I don't think springing him or his dead body on the public will be the hosanna moment the admin would hope for.

6. I'm not sure the capture of OBL

will be as big a deal as we think it will be unless they "bring him out " two days before the election.

The message that Howard Dean and others have been telling us is "Are we safer without Saddam?" Tell that to the people in Spain, tell that to the families of all that have died since his capture.

I believe the OBL is either dead or seriously ill. Now that Bush has awakened every horrible sleeping terrorist giant in this world, OBL probably has at least 25 - 50 terrorist that are just as vicious as he is/was.

What this government fails to understand is that we are not dealing with the Russians or the Germans anymore. They had a country, a language that many Americans could speak etc.

These OBL destroyers are all over the WORLD. They have so many sleeper cells that are alive and well.

Will America be safer when the elusive OBL is captured(and will that be a major catch?) I'm not sure that I will be instantly safer.

I'm not sure that GWB, who has been trying to find OBL since 911 -2001, should get the total credit if and when he is captured.

I hope we find OBL today! Let's get it out there now.

I'm betting his capture/death will be in July, August or September. Vice President Rove will decide exactly when that occurs, and he knows it would appear too contrived if in October or November.

but can't our desire for no "october surprise" be easily misconstrued by any freepers trolling about. They'll return to their lairs and say "see, the libs want osama to be safe and sound. Traitors!" If he is caught our goal should not be lamenting the impact on the polls (actually, it shouldn't be lamenting at all), but rather it should be illuminating the fact that it should not have taken this long, and it wouldn't have had there not been a little diversion in Iraq.
