Anyone catch CBS News?
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 06:41 PM by Cush
They pointed out that by having Condi on all these talk shows they are undercutting the "Executive Privledge" excuse. The hypocrisy of leaking info about Clarke, but claiming Executive Privledge for Condi.

Also pointed out how the Bush Admin has a habit of using the claim, Tom Ridge's testimony, Condi Rice, the Energy Commission

1. John Dean is all over the Bush/Cheney secrecy thing...
"Worse Than Watergate" may be the most frightening book I've yet read on these goons. I'm barrelling through it because I'm afraid if I put it down I won't have the cojones to pick it up again.

5. John Dean could be a huge wildcard
John Dean has been all over the place hammering the administration on both their alarming propensity for secrecy AND their deplorable bullying tactics.

This about the Plame scandal:

"But neither Colson nor Ehrlichman nor anyone else I knew while working at the Nixon White House had the necessary viciousness, or depravity, to attack the wife of a perceived enemy by employing potentially life-threatening tactics. "

http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2003/10/03/dean/index_np.html

Dean has said that Plame and Wilson have a very very strong case for a federal criminall awsuit...one that has the strong potential to pry open the WHite House. And my gut feeling is that he is somewhere behind a lot of it.

6. I have to disagree with Dean about his belief that nobody in the...
...Nixon White House had the "necessary viciousness, or depravity, to attack the wife of a perceived enemy by employing potentially life-threatening tactics." Somebody should ask E. Howard Hunt how he thinks his wife was killed:

And Hunt was very far from being a choirboy himself...

Here's more on "Executive Action" referenced in the link above:

Here's another group to which Hunt belonged, as noted on pages 316-317 in the book "High Treason" by Grodon and Livingstone:

7. Its too bad his book came out a the same time as Clarke's...
Much as I love all things Clarke, Dean's book may not get the attention
it deserves.

4. ABC also carried a story
the *moron is the problem in that he's saying no...

the 9/11 commission is considering bringing back both Rice and Clarke together, under oath to testify about the discrepencies in testimony.

Still Rice wants to only speak privately, no oath, and is considering then releasing/declassifying the info to the public.
Doesn't fly with the commission i believe.

heads up mid/westcoasters to this story.
