Drudge has his siren up: Condi to release sworn testimony in transcript...
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 08:55 PM by Junkdrawer
Hey, maybe she as good at testifying as Bush when confronted with her lies:

http://www.takebackthemedia.com/liar.html

On Edit: Here are the unbelievable details:

White House officials worked Monday to negotiate a compromise that would allow public release of national security adviser Condoleezza Rice's testimony before the independent commission looking into the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the WASHINGTON POST and NY TIMES are planning to report in Tuesday editions, DRUDGE has learned from multiple sources. White House did not allow a recording to be made of what Rice said when she met privately with commissioners for 4 hours in Feb. However, staff members have notes that were described as being nearly verbatim.... MORE... Rice may submit to another private session with the commissioners and allow them to release a transcript...

1. What sworn testimony?
I understood Condi was never under oath when she talked to the commission.

6. She was NOT under oath -- there was no sworn testimony
One of the Comission members, Ben-Veniste, recently described it as more of an 'interview', and reiterated that she had not gone under oath.

22. Thanks
I hope this was a new Karen Hughes decision, it makes the whole controversy look even worse for bush.

25. That's what Lee Hamilton told Tweety.
"We held a discussion with her, it wan't SWORN testimony..."

Ah-HAH! "Not Sworn"....The Bart Simpson Defense comes to play here:
"I didn't do it, nobody saw me, you can't prove ANYTHING!"

2. This is bunk. She hasn't given any testimony under oath.
I think it is unacceptable to allow for the printed trascript. This is a court of public opinion. Clarke was seen raising his hand in oath and then testifying. I will not accept anything less from lying Condi.

8. I won't be deposed nor will I appear in court, but my lawyers...
are preparing a statement. Think a judge would find that acceptable in ANY trial?

10. I guess that's why the siren is flying
when you put it that way, we have what amounts to another low speed white Ford Bronco chase...

I have been waiting for a long time for that siren to be flying for our side. Years.

12. I was listening to a clear channel station this afternoon and the
announcer stated that Condi was refusing to testify under
oath. I was surprised that they made that statement. Something is definitely afoot.

15. Tell the Commission: NO OATH, NO POINT!
She is a proven liar.

SHE MUST BE SWORN IN.

I don't care to read a transcript of her lies given without an oath - just as I wouldn't watch her on the million talkshows she's been on.

NO OATH, NO POINT!

16. Your headline is misleading: there was no SWORN testimony
Dr. Rice at no time testified under oath before the Commission. Drudge himself doesn't use the term sworn.

Two minutes after I posted, he added italics right where I added the emphasis. But I'll edit if I can still. -- On Edit: Second thought, that would make a lot of the posts seem meaningless, so I'll let it stand.

19. Don't care
Until she testifies before the commission IN PUBLIC AFTER she is SWORN IN AND UNDER OATH then I will believe what she has to say. However, I would still question what she says simply because of all the shit she is pulling now. Even IF she is brought under oath, I still wouldn't trust her.

Drudge has now added:

'I would like to have her testimony under the penalty of perjury' the commission's chairman tells the TIMES...

26. Bunch of squirmy wimpos
So if they're going to stonewall, stonewall. Say "we did the best we could" and move on. What makes Bush such a perfect victim it's so fun to watch him squirm. It's the same pattern -- the presidential debates, the showdown with China, Campaign Finance Reform, the Homeland Security Act. Initial false bravado followed by a cowardly cringe. In the end, he usually caves.
