Why the press and politicians should take notice of DU posts

Is there a larger online group that has such in depth discussions of true possiblities for America? DU is about voice and freedom. What is it about for you?

4. It's about furthuring the causes of liberalism...

beyond it's standard and all too common definition. This is a place to argue and establish ideas with a group of people presumably more receptive to the chatter of the halls of debate: democrats and people who consider themselves liberal. The are indeed the modern halls of debate, if we want them to be.

5. DU saved one of my children from going to Iraq, even tho Bu$h took another

one. If it hadnt been for DU my oldest son would be in Iraq right now. Because of DU, he was saved from going, and got his honourable discharge. It took some brave people here, and my anger and relentless letters and work with them , and one brave woman here, to keep my son out of there.
Alas, they took my stepson, and we couldnt keep him out.
Nonetheless, DU saved my one sons life and I will forever be in their debt for that, especially to a few brave souls on here who reached out and helped me.
DU, all of those who helped me (((((((I love you with all my heart)))).

6. A place where I can remember I'm not all alone

and that there are other liberal Democrats in the world! Politicians really SHOULD take notice and use some of the fantastic ideas that get posted here. We'd all be better off for it.
