(WHEN) Rice Is 'Forced' To Testify, Will She Be Asked Anything?
i firmly believe she will testify, under oath, in public. even the RW politicos are saying the WH is stupid for not letting her and it gives the appearance she (they) have something to hide.

so, i believe she WILL be forced to testify to try and save thier asses.

now, the burning question is: WILL anyone ask her 'the questions' and if so, WHO do you predict will strike the blows?

1. didn't Reagan's & Clinton's NSA testify under oath?
I believe Bud McFarlane & Sandy Berger both waived their rights...

4. Clinton refused
to allow Clarke to testify using the same seperation of powers edict as Bush is with Rice. I think it was 1999. Let me try to find a link.

5. That was to Congress
this isn't a congressional investigation, so it doesn't apply.

RW meme keeps repeating that:

  • She's already testified in private No, she met with them and was NOT under oath

  • Seperation of powers - constitutionally can't testify No, it's not a congressional investigation, it's an independent commission (appointed by Shrub)

  • and of course, it's all Clinton's fault!

7. Thanks
I was about to delete, because I couldn't find anything to support what I heard in passing, but with you refuting it, I think its better to leave it up, don't you?

Clarke and Ms. Liar both take the oath and give answers together! I love that idea!

to the questions asked.

8. I saw one of the 9/11 widows on NOW...

...with Bill Moyers (or was it "Nightline"?) and she was complaining that there are some questions that the commission just won't ask. When she complained she was told that it just isn't "the Washington way".

12. I have a gut feeling
that the commission will be asking the right questions. The fact that they have apparently put partisan issues aside in demanding her sworn testimony indicates they may have decided to let the chips fall where they may. I believe they can see now that there are serious questions coming from the survivors that have now become a part of the national dialog that need serious answers.
This is starting to have the same feel as Watergate.
Back then, the committee and the nation remained partisan until the truth revealed itself and we realized the greater issue was the survival of our democracy. The current actions of Bush & Co.,having the CIA parse the records for ammunition against Clarke, are precisely the actions of the Nixon administration that disgusted most Americans.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

11. Two commission members will shake Rice!
Richard Ben-Veniste & Bob Kerrey.

If you read the prior transcripts and listened to the hearings last week, these two guys are very tough and aren't afraid to ask anything!

I'm especially impressed with Ben-Veniste. It's apparent that he does his homework and states the where and when "you said" this, and now you say that....why? Those are very difficult statements to spin away.

I guess this testimony of Rice isn't going to be too far away since the final report is due in July. Also breaking with this sam news about Rice is that the Pres & VP will testify before the entire commission and not just the two commission heads. Great news I think.
