1. Not as big as the revolution will be if he "wins."
I'm ready. Are you?

3. The Message Has to be gotten out
the general public has to be able to see through the lies, manipulations and corruption of this administration...
the general election is still a long way..and this is a battle for the very soul and future of this great nation

8. Some people refuse to see (Even when presented with proof)

These are comments on "Unprecedented: The 2000 election" a very convincing film.

" Chicago, IL

Date: 21 November 2003
Summary: Perhaps a bit too biased, but it asks the right questions with startling answers

To simply dismiss this documentary as liberal nonsense is ridiculous. As the
documentary points out there are a number of outstanding issues which need
to be addressed and simply haven't been. For example, the fact that Katherine
Harris, as Secretary of State took part in certifying vote counts, denying the
extension of the certification date, etc. is astounding. The clear conflicts of
interest (since she played a role in Bush's election campaign) were simply
ignored.

Additionally, there are a number of possible civil rights violations (with respect
to an individual's right to vote) that might have occurred, but which have not
been investigated (such as incorrectly labeling a incredibly large number of
votes as felons and thus precluding their ability to vote).

But the documentary doesn't provide a complete picture as it doesn't really
represent the "republican" perspective.

DoobieKeebler
America

Date: 22 October 2003
Summary: Liberal nonsense

Coming away from this "documentary", you "learn" that all Republicans are evil
and that democrats actually aren't interested in winning presidential elections,
they only want a fair voting system. To quote Kronk, "Rrrrright."

Katharine Harris, Jeb Bush, and company are portrayed in an unfairly negative
light and the "filmmakers" try to Monday morning quarterback how exactly Al
Gore lost the liberal-haven that is Florida. Rather than put the blame on
ignorant old people who wasted their votes on Pat Buchanan, they want you to
believe that steps taken to prevent felons from voting were actually designed
to keep black people from voting for Gore. Uh-huh.

The more convincing point is that an overwhelming majority of felons (and
suspected felons) vote democrat. "Everyone's a democrat...until they get
money." Two seconds are spent on the Gore's team decision to pursue JUST
a recount of the four overwhelmingly Democratic counties rather than all of the
counties in the state.

Pretty odd that all the people interviewed are democrats bitching because
Gore lost and all are presented as good citizens who just want a fair
election...that will put a Democrat in office. "

10. This is what happens when factions rule political systems.
Oh and by the way, love your "Airplane" quote.

5. This is my major political concern.
I see people on both the right and left who don't think polls are representative of the mainstream beliefs of US citizens. I also have seen that people here on DU are concerned that elections can be fixed, via electronic voting and other methods. I haven't seen that EXACT concern on the right, but should Bush fail to get a second term I could see the right adopting that concern.

So, no matter who wins the next election, there will be a number of people crying foul. How many and how stridently, I don't know.

6. That's easy
We spend a lot of time hemming and hawing about the prudence of taking the fight to the streets if we have our right to select our government stolen from us a second time. But we can be damn sure that the neo-con lunatics will be loaded for bear even if it's clear that Kerry won by a decent margin. They will have none of our qualms about resorting to violence if the electoral process fails their boy.

Yeah, I'll be ready in RI.

7. Win or Lose, it has become "When" not "If"
Most old time Fascists and Neo-Fascists have not been stupid enough to make one fatal error: Arming the General Public.

There are almost as many Leftists as Rightists with guns these days, and don't tell me we can't fight tanks and jets. The moment a US Government strafes downtown LA, all bets will be off. The Left and the Right will gird up their grids for "The Big One."

The difference this time is the degree of catastrophe that will ensue from the general conflagration. Can you picture it? New York, Chicago, Detroit...all in flames with people shooting each other over food? Do you really think SAFEWAY will stay open for the "revolution?"

To be perfectly depressing, I think one two equally distasteful futures await us:

ONE:
General anarchy started by the Neo-Fascist takeover of the Government via the Future Fraudulent Selection of 2004; might not happen in January, just wait a little while. When the Constitution starts taking hits (like Pickering for Chief Justice) and they start quietly collecting the guns, BOOM is very close at hand.

TWO:
General semi-cooperation with the installation of a TRUE Neo-Fascist regieme. With "Gott Mit Uns" as the clarion call, they can forestall anarchy for a while. What will likely do them in is the resulting depression: Capitalism is not compatible with Fascism. Mussolini himself said so. When the depression comes, the cities will burn.

I'd say there was a THREE, that we could WAKE THE FUCK UP and turn the system around from militaristic, elitist, racist, bigotted Neo-Fascism, but there are too many deluded folks that think the Neo-Fascists are the only true Americans. Rush's audience is real after all, along with O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter et al. Delusion can be very comforting.

At the end of the day, political systems are like species: they either evolve to higher forms, or they become extinct. Even Marx said that. Perhaps we have already committed Abraham Lincoln's suicide by factionalism, and just waiting for some kind soul to pull the plug.

9. Don't know about revolution, but there will be marching in the streets
here and around the world if Bush "wins." People will express their displeasure of Bush's illigetimacy, as well as his devil-may-care attitude.

11. The fact that this question can be asked seriously is just so sad.
This is actually a legitimate question in today's US. The public is that ionized, and our current administration is that corrupt. They barely even try to hide it.

The whole scene today really just blows me away.
