Folks I just talked with a big shot civil rights atty in DC

he said its dangerous as hell right now...hes representing tons of people whose civil liberties are being taken away in droves..including military people who are being abused and taken back to Iraq with horrific medical conditions
he said that things like the horrible precedent setting case in Louisiana where the 4th amendment has been thrown out, and many other cases attacking the Constitution have been thrown out, are causing him a great deal of worry
He said if things heat up and Bush steals this one, his office (big shots) will have to close down and that we can kiss the Constitution goodbye.
He said, if you are out there talking to people TELL THEM TO CALL YOUR DEMS AND DEMAND THEY BECOME COHESIVE AND DEMAND IMPEACHMENT
he said the dems are sitting on their hands.
so dont get lazy please lets call our senators and congresspeople and demand impeachment,,,email them to get cohesive..and start coming out and demanding answers about the illegal war in Iraq..

There isn't time before the election and the election is a better use of time on the airwaves, which is at a premium on right wing cable. But, I think 'some' Dem politicians can and should voice it.

The last time that the President asked for Congressional authrorization for war was FDR right after Pearl Harbor.

Since then, the US has been embroiled in countless military adventures under both Republicans and Democrats, none of which have been declared as war by Congress.

James Madison was quite explicit on the reasoning behind placing powers to declare war SOLELY in the hands of Congress. America chose to ignore that warning, at its own peril -- as now is becoming abundantly clear.

Laying this phenomenon at the feet of the current administration is addressing a mere symptom while ignoring the disease.

I do it every day every day and demand they get a spine and speak out and attack on all fronts the Bush lies and apologize for voting for the Iraq war if they did vote for it

6. i don`t think they will give up power

the election will be rigged and bush will still be in power. it will take years to restore democracy to the united states, it will happen but not in my lifetime,sad to say but i hope someday my children will live again in a democratic society...
