What are the odds of Condi ratting the bums out?
That would be sooooo awesome and she's leaving this year regardless. If she has the balls...er...courage to do that then they will be done for sure.

6. She's intensely loyal and caught up in the cult
...but at some point it's going to dawn on her that she's being thrown to the rabble, the sacrificial lamb used to deflect attention away from Bush and Cheney. She's no dummy, and she will eventually realize this.

Whether or not she realizes it before or during her testimony instead of long after is the only question.

2. The likelihood of that
Is the same as me voting for Bush in November! But it's nicer to think about.

3. Pretty slim, actually.
She knows on which side her bread is buttered. Besides, don't be surprised to see her running for President in the near future. Wouldn't a Rice/Powell or Powell/Rice ticket throw the rightwingers into a frenzy?

4. How weird! I was thinking about that this morning
When she said to Bradley on 60 Minutes (paraphrasing) "For me, there would be nothing better than testifying"

She almost sounded.....sincere?

*slap! slap!*

I'll go to my room now.

5. None.
She's been told to lie, she tried to get out of testifying under oath, Duhbya caved under the pressure, and now she has to suck it up and take one for President Gump.

11. If she gets caught lying, then she is screwed
If she tells the truth? What can they do to her? She's an extremely intelligent black female millionaire. I have this feeling that they haven't been treating her as well as they should have.

Yeah, yeah I know she's conservative to the bone, but so are Paul O'Neil and Richard Clarke and many others.

22. She has already lied..."who could know they would use a plane as a missile
She is either grossly incompetent, or a grossly incompetent liar. pick one. I abhor the fact that she has been used as has Powell-who knows what drains integrity so completely out of otherwise intelligent people? I keep thinking of the invasion of the body snatchers or that lizard sci-fi V I think it was called-where the aliens inhabit human bodies. Maybe she knows exactly what she is doing every step of the way and is like the tribal leaders who sold their people as slaves. Hard to grasp.

13. it's so pukey
they are making the condi testimony out to be a noble gesture in the search for truth when they are actually acting out of fear for their own asses

Don't insult Forrest Gump that way. He is way too nice and way too smart to be compared to Bush.

7. If she quits
the day before she testifies, then yes. I could see her ratting them out, or at least not lying well. If she stays until her hitch is up, she'll be the perfect little company mouthpiece.

17. She would have to rat herself out
Her training, education, experience, and knowledge focused on running a college and studying the Soviet Union (which, btw broke up over a decade ago).

She was local "color" for the Bushistas to use to erect a barricade of "non--criticism" to allow them to go forward with their vision of pax americana undeterred.

She is clueless on what a NSA needs to know in the world today.

18. Neh. On t'other hand, chances of her lying STUPIDLY are very high

You are living in a dreamworld if you're seriously hoping for this.

You're imagining this is a normal, modern political administration. It is not. It is much more like a medieval court. We are not talking about experts and technocrats with an interest in policy. We are talking about courtiers. The cardinal value--the ONLY value, really--is loyalty to the liege. W.

The one thing we have going for us--and I'm sure it's the reason they didn't want her to testify--is that in an administration of expert liars, she is a rank amateur. She lies badly. She gets flustered and angry and shifts her eyes around and says stupid, obviously disprovable things. "No one ever thought of flying airplanes into buildings," etc.

We can hope she says something exceedingly stupid. But actually "coming clean"? Not in this lifetime.

20. perjury or a slip will be awesome as well
it's true she can't handle lying under pressure as well as the others. Catching her for perjury and then having Bush pardon her would be very telling.

19. Zip, nadda, no way Jose...
...Condi is up over her hip boots in big oil. She is a Chevron board member and that means that whoever or whatever she values has been totally conditioned by that background. Now, she'll be protecting her own ass and will have to do that well because she has no idea what the fall-out may be from all this. Dicky and Dubya may just through her under the bus. If that happens she may squeal.:nopity:
