5. I was wondering the same thing, but CNN is about the

only cable news I can watch, without going stark raving mad. It's interesting to see the delivery companies - UPS and FedEX - Republican supporters.

I'm wondering if there is a way to match up these Republican companies to outsourcing companies. Is there a correlation, or is outsourcing an equal opportunity unemployer?

They stepped over the line when they lost Ted Turner, joined up with AOL, and CNN started losing status to FOX and NBC who had already become Fox redux. Don't your remember the news about the brass at CNN going to the WH to see what they could do differently to get the WH breaks and favors? Ever since, they emulated Fox and started whoring...court jesters in the morning and journalists morphing to propaganda con artists.

Some of those corporations give to both parties.

I absolutely don't think of Time-Warner as partial to Dems. You could see their conversion during the Clinton character assassination. And now it's blatant.

Hosever, CNN Intl is supposed to be the old Time-Warner - they don't try to do the WH jig. It's too risky for all their employees all over the world. I resent that I can't get CNN Intl and have to swallow the primping and pandering for the cabal - in partnership.

I can say with almost certainty that whenever I read the aol news, it is slightly left of center. The righty's on aol have gotten so angry that alot of them have cancelled their aol subscription.
So, I can believe that aol/time warner is slightly left of center.

Time Warner, Viacom and Disney all produce films; they don't want a puritan crusade to ban nudity and swearing in films (I'd add violence in there, but there doesn't seem to be any indication that Republicans hate violence). Their broadcasting and music interests will also benefit from non-censorship. Freedom also means freedom to make money.

Big media has to reach across the isle right now. Otherwise, they might have to endure rollbacks of their empire from Congress.

Keep in mind that they want all barriers dropped regarding media ownership in a market. One company could dominate an entire area. Or one company could dominate radio, TV, cable....

Greasing the wheels.

I think media worrying about censorship is a front. Remember when the media had some restraints and the righteous right was constantly hammering it for being too loose with morals and values?

Take a look at what dominates the airwaves now and remind yourself that this is largely due to big corporate, genrally GOP friendly, companies. Yet where is the righteous right now? For the most part, silent. The very things they were so indignant about 10 - 15 years ago are what corporate ownership now "sells" as programming.

If the media were really liberal, liberals wouldn't have to scrape together money to buy their own network. If the media cared about competition, there would be a counterpart to every ultra right wing show on the air.

Watch out if any of them do figure out money could be made by airing more liberal shows. They'll buy them out and "reprogram" them into compliance, but still sell them as "liberal."

Money buys influence and the media is only taking care of its own interests.
