15 year-old charged with possession of child porn, pics of herself
Okay, this is an interesting situation:

PITTSBURGH - A 15-year-old girl has been arrested for taking nude photographs of her self and posting them on the Internet, police said.

The girl, whose identity was withheld, was accused of sending out photographs of herself in various states of undress and performing a variety of sexual acts. She sent them to people she met in chat rooms on the Internet, police said.

Key bit of data missing. Did the "sexual acts" involve other minors, or just herself?

She has been charged with sexual abuse of children, possession of child pornography and dissemination of child pornography.

1. EEK. I guess it depends on who her partners were huh?
Either way, sounds like the kid needs some intervention/help from someone? *sheesh*

2. This isn't right

charging this girl with a sex crime is ridiculous. This girl needs counseling not to have to register as a sex offender. I hate DA's that are more out to see how many convictions they can get rather than seeing that there's a problem and what needs to be done to fix it. So they go ahead and screw up the girl's life forever. So eventually this girl gets counseling she grows up, she's 30 years old, moves and still has to register as a sex offender. This is one of the stupidest things I have read in my entire life.

3. I agree, it's not right to prosecute her.
Her parents need to look at their internet provider and learn to be more sophisticated about such things, in addition to the whole family needing some kind of intervention.

4. A lonely teenager posts naked pics of herself on the net for attention
and they charge her with a sex crime - for abusing herself?

Give me a mother-fucking break.
