I am very bothered by 911 Kerrey's comments about the Ashcroft
threat issue. Look folks, this information came from a couple of mainstream sources. Jim Stewart is a rather folksy reporter for CBS and I don't think he made this up.

Furthermore, it was on ABC as well.

This what I like about DU; it doesn't buy what the establishment right says or what the establishment left says for that matter.

I have been here for a couple of years now, and I think people are just trying to ferret out the TRUTH!!! and it doesn't matter whose feelings get hurt in the process.

By the way, Democracy Now has archived an interview with Ms. Edmonds, the translator for the FBI.

So, why doesn't John Kerrey call Jim Steward and ask him about it.

Damn!

1. No link. No quote. No idea what you are babbling about.

4. Kerrey made the comments on Air America
Why did you demean the poster by saying "babbling"?

6. Sorry about that. Kerrey said on Al Franken's show today that
there wasn't anything to the reports that Ashcraft had quit flying commercial planes in July 2001 because of terrorist threats. At the time it was reported by CBS and ABC news. NOw, 911 commission member, Kerrey, says there is nothing to it.

3. I didn't hear the Kerry comments, just heard about them
Maybe you could write the reporter and tell him what Kerrey said. See what the original source has to say. See if he was contacted by the commission.

7. I did hear it live...
Franken and Kerrey were talking to a caller about Ashcroft stopping commerical flights, and that Condiliar and allegedly warned Willy Brown of SF not to fly on Sept. 11.

The comment bothered me a bit, but they expanded to both say that they did not believe the conspiracy theories about 9/11. Kerrey said that it was not a conspiracy, but that they were caught napping. "Caught napping" is not a direct quote, but it was words to that effect. Franken agreed. Sept 11 happened because they were not doing their jobs.

They were referring to Ashcroft in terms of a conspiracy theory.

I thought, overall, the interview was great.
