* says 7 Marines in Liberia are there for a humanitarian mission, YET...
Edited on Thu Aug-07-03 12:31 PM by lebkuchen
Bush refuses to allow the food, which is held by the rebels, in to the starving people. Bush holds the key to this food, yet he creates a Catch-22 by not sending in enough troops, to which the rebels will release the food, but only when Taylor leaves. Taylor isn't leaving. 1.5 million are left to eat their pet dogs as a result.

Where's the humanity?

1. Offshore oil facilities are OK, and that's good news for investors!

And a reduced civilian population will make keeping them secure easier!

3. Not to worry...inside of 2 weeks, we will have TWENTY soldiers there!!!
Edited on Thu Aug-07-03 12:19 PM by DagmarK
This whole thing smacks of a presidential TANTRUM at being forced through international pressure to intervene to stop the horrors in Liberia.

Can you just see the Administration talking about this?

ROVE: "DAMN.....we have no choice but to send help. They have backed us into a political corner! If we don't send help, they are going to really talk bad about us!"

CHENEY: "Yeah, we have to make some sort of appearance of caring...... that's for sure."

BUSH: "FINE, then send 20 soldiers in. One for each toe and finger I have. And we will be done with it. That will teach them to try to tell ME what to do! Fuck 'em. Can I get a photo op for this?"

**Laughter erupts.....and the policy is set!**

I really believe such a 'policy' could have emerged!!

Oh, the sins of our country!

4. What can seven marines do, just a figleaf of involvement
It's BS the press lets Bush get away with this phony and virtually meaningless gesture. Where is the media's indepth analyst of what Bush's actions will accomplish in Liberia. The great US leader shows no leadership in Liberia.

6. Picture of these BRAVE marines...half our force here in this photo
Edited on Thu Aug-07-03 01:50 PM by amen1234

Marines of the liaison team that the U.S. is contributing to a peacekeeping force arrive in Liberia.

This is total bush* incompetence....these brave young men are likely to be KILLED, since bush* sends no real support...into a nation torn to pieces in over 10 years of civil wars, no food, people are starving, over two hundred thousand rebel troops in their capital city....how dare bush* do this to OUR troops...
