Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
***I seen this on Scarbourgh the other night...did you know that the men and women killed get only $6000 for their families? Then its $950 a month til the wife remarries...this was brought up because these people deserve to get enough to live on as the families of 9-11 victims...a must read web site!!!!******The war mongers should donate to this BIG TIME!!!!

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund provides gifts to military families that have paid the ultimate price: the loss of a loved one in defense of our country. Our goal is to provide financial support to help spouses and children of military personnel through any immediate or long-term financial difficulties they may face. This gift is made quietly and without fanfare, to protect the privacy of the families.

Donate online to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund through Givedirect.org.

100% of contributions go to support military families. The Intrepid Museum Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax deductible under applicable laws.

Our goal is to support them in their time of need, and to ensure that they know that our nation appreciates the sacrifice they have mad

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund works in coordination with the casualty offices of the United States Armed Forces in determining families eligible for support. The Fund will provide support to the surviving spouses and/or children of United States and British uniformed military personnel killed in action in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Through a special contribution from a generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous, the Fund will make an additional contribution of $1,000 to the families of all U.S. troops lost in Iraq, regardless of whether they left behind a spouse or children.

1. SGLI
The $6000 is a called a death benefit, it is given to help offset any
immediate costs. There is also the SGLI payment, this is an insurance
policy that is between $75,000 to $250,000.

The SGLI payment can be given in a lump sum and it can be divided between several benficiaries.

The key is that the service member has to make sure that they get the
insurance, a lot of them don't.
