An outsider take on California's Recall
I live in PA...our state is having problems too...but not as bad as CA's because well..CA is a bit larger and more populated...

However I have to say that this Recall is the biggest dis-service to the constituents of California....its almost like a drug trip gone bad..

1. While this Recall nonsense is taking over that state what else is being accomplished?
2. Will electing a new governor really eliminate the debt CA owes to the Enrons..etc
3. How much money will it take to run this goofy recall?

In the meantime all the problems that are plaguing Davis will still exist and like a drug trip...the problems that were there before getting high will still be there afterwards...

It also makes a very wonderful state look like its full of lunatics which its not...

2. Answer to #3: if the cost of recall vote = 65 million
then 18,752 candidates paying the required $3500 fee will pay for it! :)

3. but,
wouldn't having that many names on the ballot drive up the cost of the election? think of the extra paper needed to print the ballots. heck, if there are even 200 names on the final ballot... how are they going to present all the choices on punch card?

4. I've been wondering about the ballot also
How on earth are they going to create a ballot with all of those names?
