Is Air America live throughout the country? On its channels?
I'm in Chicago and used to listen to Randi on the internet starting at 2:00PM. Now she isn't on the Chicago channel until 3:00. So on the radio I'm listening to a tape but on the internet I'd be listening live, right?

1. Each affiliate has its own schedule.
Listen at the Air America link to get the live feed.

2. I hate listening to taped radio. To me it's old news.
What's the point in having a channel in Chicago if it's on tape and the people can't call in? I don't get that. It's not your fault, I'll email them.

3. If that's what they are doing is
delaying the show an hour. They can skip the first hour and start live with hour number 2 and replay hour number 1 after the live show is over. A lot of talk shows use this tactic.

4. To listen to Air America live you must go to

This is the Air America web site, and requires Real player, which you can get from
http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html

You can also go to the WLIB web page, which works with the Windows Media player.

5. I understand that but I'm in Chicago.
We have a channel here and it seems like their whole programming is delayed one hour.

6. I know I hate it also
We are currently hearing the Dean interview while everyone else is on to something else. Since I am on a dial up, the radio is better because streaming and surfing at the same time is a frustrating endeavor. Really do wish the radio wouldn't stagger the broadcast like this and also wish they wouldn't reair the Franken noon show once again after Janeane is over.

7. Now I understand--but you're right, I don't get it
You should be getting Randi at 2PM your time on the radio. Either your station just bought pieces of Air America (like they in Portland, Oregon) or they're extremely worried about an indecency getting through!

9. No, they have the full lineup but it is all one one hour delay
I hate it and have already written to Randi and AA about it. I think it may turn off alot of people as well as shut out millions of potential callers.

Please everyone write to them and request they change it. I can see maybe delaying the west coast, altho I think that's a mistake too, but criminy, we are only one hour behind. All the drive time shows will still be drive time.

I just discovered this yesterday. Their first day Randi came on at 2, yesterday she started at 3. I was starting to see Randi threads here at DU while I was listening to Al interview Hillary.

This really pisses me off!!

8. I'm considering gettin XML
just for AirA. There's a start-up cost, of course -- $300 for home and car availibilty, plus ten bucks a month.

If it keeps up like it's going now, though, and like it did this morning, I'm gonna shell out the cash.
