went to a (ft. worth, tx) dean meet-up last night...
we (ms. ret5hd and me) went to the dean meet-up last night in ft. worth, tx. This was their 3rd meeting, but the first we had gone to. There were 105 people attending, up from 39 the previous meeting. The only hecklers (3 late middle-aged, lower working class types, exactly the type of people to benefit from democratic policies) were quickly run from the room.

There was quite an energy there, fueled by the recent actions of our Democratic state reps and sens. The group was not all that organized yet, but as i said, this was only the 3rd meeting. It was really energizing to be with a large group of like-minded people in this repug hell-hole.

I don't wish to start the flame-wars with this (kucinich actually better represents my views), merely presenting information.

4. well, it just seems to me that...
ft worth just has a more "working class" attitude about it. not that dallas doesn't have working class people in it, just the attitude of the city.

btw, my only real knowledge of the dallas culture outside of business is from deep ellum, and i haven't even been there that often in 2 or 3 yrs.

however, we went to the anti-war rally in dallas (of which ft worth had none) and there was a real turn-out for that, well over a 1000 as i recall.
