After California, is Oregon and Washington next?
This concerns me. It seems the Republican spin doctors are working overtime for the West Coast. California is not the only state with money problems. I fear Karl Rove and pals maybe drawing up plans for taking over in Oregon and Washington. Does anybody have this feeling?

1. They're already striking in Washington
Nethercutt ( honor term limits liar) has said he is seeking Murray's seat in the senate.
This jerk is hardline conservative and a true Republican, say anything to get elected then just renig....I believe that is a LIAR in any dictionary....
The attack has begun. 2000 was a lucky shot that hit the bullseye, now the Republicans are taking deliberate aim.

4. Turncoat Ted
I'm not sure they would even want to remove Kulongoski. He has so far been about as republican in his actions as Mannix would have been. So far he has been as cheap labor conservative as the repugs could hope for. The dismantling of the retirement benefits and the two year total pay freeze for public employees are as bad as it gets. The state budget will be balanced on the backs of workers with no tax reform on the horizon.

2. Oregon is safe
I seriously see nothing that Rove can can spin against Ted K. that would cause him to lose his seat as Governor.

3. Oregon is NOT "Safe"
It is just that the neo-con attack is coming from within the state legislature using religious extremists to do their dirty work, so the attack is not as high profile as California's Ridiculous Recall.

It is just as deadly though. Oregon's fiscal situation is in true crisis, ranking at the BOTTOM of all the states.

The state is being destroyed by neo-con tax policies that protect corporate profits and the income of the wealthy and cut spending on all needed social programs and education. And "Privatize Everything" is becoming their motto.

Fortunately some of the worst of the legislators are not the brightest peas in the pod and some of their moves can still be counted on to be so stupid and ridiculous that it gets the public's attention.

As far as the Governorship is concerned, don't assume that Sizemore and his ilk won't be back.
