Help on the Arnold media euphoria

Being out most of the evening I missed not only the "big news" but what I have gleaned on various thread side comments was the fact that various media types (conservative cable robots for the most part) were delighted that a movie star might run for gov of California.

Excuse me but...can anyone tell me exactly how they rationalized electing an unaccomplished and inexperienced man (in terms of administration or other needed skills) to run a large, diverse state that is in serious economic straits? Did anyone address this or was it indeed simply: HE'S A REPUBLICAN AND FAMOUS! sort of festival.

Oh, and this meeting with Rove the WH politico get reported as a wonderful thing? Is anyone at all in this mess thinking?

4. The precedent has been set...

We've already had a Governor Jesse "the Body" Ventura, hell you can even throw Ralph Nader and Ross Perot into that mix, but the windmills they tilted at got the better of them...G.Gordon Liddy acts in films and is revered by the right, Ollie North is undoubtedly on some neocon's list to get some appointment somewhere soon. Satire is dead because America has become satire personified, I figure it's a matter of time before Rowdy Roddy Piper, Sgt. Slaughter, Mr. T, hell even Anne Coulter and Sean Hannity decide to run for office, and I'm not talking dogcatcher here....Too bad Ben-Lo broke up, they'd have made a great team in politics...Bush once told a critic "who cares what you think", well I believe a ton of people don't care what the candidates think, it's all about looking good on camera, and let's just never mind the dirty business of reality alone, unlooked upon, unquestioned, because it's not polite and who wants to think about that anyways?

America has plunged head first into cartoon country, and yet we are told there is nothing worth getting animated about.

6. I was astounded at Hannity

He was extolling all of Arnold's wonderful qualities – how wonderfully he handled himself in his press conference, how he said he intended to be for the people, etc., etc.

I was stunned, because all these years he's been bashing the "Hollywood Elite," people such as Barbra Streisand. As for Arnold being "for the people," isn't that what Al Gore was for? Seems that Hannity is a sucker for movie stars, as long as they're Republican. Never mind that Arnold is pro-gun control, pro-abortion, favors social programs, and everything else that goes against a conservative's grain. Poor Sean is in awe of movie stars.

Matt Drudge was trying to talk sense into him, but he wouldn't listen.

Funny how Arnold is everything that Mayor Bloomberg is in New York, and they hate , though I watched them celebrate Bloomberg's election. Why will Arnold be different?
