How much does "stupid" pay these days?

City schools losing 56% of high school students
The Oklahoma City School District loses more than half its students between ninth grade and graduation
Statewide, public schools lose more than a quarter of their students over the same period.

"It is shocking," said Phyllis Hudecki, executive director of the Oklahoma Business and Education Coalition. "I did a double take when I first saw the state figures."

So it goes with 8 years of Republican Governor Frank Keating and 6 years of Republican stranglehold on the legislature where the Democrats are jumping at shadows and willing to bend over if the Republicans will on promise not to field a candidate against them.

You have wonder if maybe some one should have noticed that half the seats were empty.

4. 56 percent of high school kids drop out?
Are there good alternatives for motivated kids so they don't get turned off by the system? i.e., Catholic or other religious high schools? Private schools?

The State of Oklahoma is somewhere around 49th in teacher's pay. No money for books, computers. The legislature is too business cutting taxes. A Keating was urging them on.

Oh yes, we may be 50th in the amount of taxation the citizens pay.

6. I'm thankful not to live in OK
I live in Texas, the 2nd worst state in the nation. To mine mind, only OK could be worse.
