California's Should RUN a Anti-recall Campain and Petition
Edited on Wed Aug-06-03 08:49 PM by Homer12

If you value fair elections people in california that see this partisian repuiblican attack on your voting rights should mount an anti-recall petition.

Get 1.3 million people to sign a petition saying they are against a recall election. Make people realize the horrible preseident that will be set in California that will reverberate across the USA.

Davis will not be the last governer recalled, if the Republicans are successfull; Wisconsin will be next.

I'm from wisconsin, and I am getting ready to use this tactic if the conservatives and the republicans decide to pull this trick on James Doyle, at the moment they are trying to get him in a trap, and set him up for when he is eligable for recall.

Anti-recall petitions are a way WE can fight back. to show that as many people don't want a recall as those that do, show's that the recall people are equalled out or are a minority voting block trying to overturn a fair election.

The conservatives will not stop untill they totaly dominate: remeber to them the Ends-justify-the-means.

1. I agree. I also support Willie Brown's call to recall whoever wins if
Gray Davis loses.

3. Whats the details on the 6 months wait?
Is it no elections before 6 months after the last election or is it no petitioning?

Is it after the last election or last inauguration?

5. I'm pretty sure petitioning can begin...
... before the 6 month period is up. That's what they did with Gray Davis, afterall.

However, I think a few months wait will be required, because all of the signatures must be gathered within 3 months. Not sure on that, though.

4. hmmm
That would be playing the republican way. Maybe it is the way to win in politics but I couldn't bring myself down to that level.

6. Recalls suck
What the hell is this crap? When I first heard about the possibility a while back, I thought it was an insane idea and no way could that happen.

Look, California elected a Govenor, he has got a term, and he should fulfill that term. That's the way a true democratic process should work.
