Kerry Comments on Support for Iraq Mission
WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) says he is committed to building a stable government in Iraq (news - web sites) — even increasing U.S. troops if necessary — but he chided the Bush administration for failing to gather the international support needed to make the country more secure and gain the trust of the Iraqi people.

<snip>

Kerry praised the Bush administration for recently asking U.N. representative Lakhdar Brahimi to help develop a formula for an interim Iraqi government. But he said Brahimi's mission will be undermined unless the United States pledges in advance to support any plan he proposes that gains the support of Iraqi leaders

<snip>

"The United Nations, not the United States, should be the primary civilian partner in working with Iraqi leaders to hold elections, restore government services, rebuild the economy, and re-create a sense of hope and optimism among the Iraqi people," Kerry wrote. "The primary responsibility for security must remain with the U.S. military, preferably helped by NATO until we have an Iraqi security force fully prepared to take responsibility."

5. It's also
what Kerry has been saying all along

But let's ignore the candidate and focus on someone else who won't be running for President.

3. I totally agree
You're right, KurtNilson, Kerry is really on fire when it comes to Iraq--I wish his message on Iraq was a bit more visible, but I suppose that's up to us grass roots supporters of Kerry, to learn his message and carry it to our friends and acquaintences.

6. You heard it here first. Kerry will rehabilitate Tony Blair and
together with France, Russia, Germany and the Iraqi people, the current problems in Iraq will be turned around, and come the presidential campaign of 2008 Iraq will be well on its way to a free and prosperous future leaving Kerry unbeatable.

Cheers.
