He's playing to that 40% of the electorate that gets all their world news from the pulpit, if they get it at all; you know, the knee-jerk jerks who think Democrats are going to make their suns put on dresses and marry the boy next door.

These are Bush's people, and he knows them well. Sure, he's going to keep on telling everybody how glorious he was on 9/11, fearlessly running to a bunker in Nebraska after staying the course at a meaningless photo op instead of leaving to get more information or do his job.
