1. Clinton did not need them.
He may have had them, but did not need them.

2. I don't recall any real president having scripted press conferences...
...and I've seen press conferences all the way back to JFK.

3. No, unlike Dumbya, Clinton can think on his feet....
and speak extemporaneously on ANY subject put to him. I kept on thinking during the news conference, which I made myself sit through without throwing up, mind you, that it was a speech full of sound and lack of fury, but still signifying nothing (with apologies to Shakespeare).

4. To my knowledge, NO president has ever conducted...
...a scripted press conference. It's almost an oxymoron, like "live on tape" or "jumbo shrimp". Clinton had speech writers, especially when he had to be funny, but he was probably the best off the cuff speaker since JFK...as a matter of fact, every president since Roosevelt (Jerry Ford included) was better on his feet than this unelected imbecile.

5. That could be the easiest question to answer, ever! Well, not really. But
Its still easy.

The obvious answer is yes. Anyone who thinks Clinton(and his aides) didn't have scripted press conferences, and selected who asked the questions is a complete moron.

8. Nonetheless
it was NOT a "requirement." The Big Dog could talk your damn ear off citing chapter and verse without cracking the book. THAT is a fact.

9. Yeah, no kidding. There is no doubt he is a very talented speaker.
But that wasn't the question. :)

10. I don't know, Bill...
...with the way everything Clinton did was examined, do you think he could have gotton away with scripting a press conference? Don't you think Fox would have told you if that were the case...or if they even thought it was?

11. I'm not sure about FOX, I don't watch them.
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 10:19 PM by Bill Wade
So I really can't say if they would have commented on it or not. Maybe so, since they are a right wing network. But so is CNN, MsnGE, and all the other great news networks. I take it as an insult for you to say "Don't you think Fox would have told you..." Maybe you didn't mean it as an insult, I can't tell.

Oh by the way, Eagles Suck!

Gibbs is back in DC. The glory days are hopefully here again!

6. I'm willing to be Bush had an 8-1/2" x 11" paper with 20 pt font.
Wirh 12 key phrases that he has memorized. Each question asked could be then mix 6 of the phrases to form a non-answer. He was only stumped on questions that had no tie-in to these phrases.

7. Clinton is brilliant

I saw him do a Q and A at a college (in Arkansas I believe) some months ago and he is absolutely phenomenal.

He handles every question with confidence, conviction, articulation and intellect.

I am baffled that a man who is so sharp that helped our nation create 20 million + jobs, who balanced budgets and got government under control to where it could do its work COULD BE disliked so passionatley by people who like this freakozoid who spoke tonight.

I can't believe the man's sex life is all that bothers these dolts.
