I am ashamed and sickened at the performance of George W. Bush
tonight, it was beyond contempt and loathing-he isn't speaking for the majority of Americans that can't stand him or his lies anymore, and he calls himself The War President:grr:

1. Äbsolutely Right! For the first time...
...I actually felt embarrassment for myself and my country. I am (to paraphrase the Dixie Chicks)embarrassed that this humanoid knock off is being seen around the world as my representative.

2. Sympathy for Satan
Call me a bleeding heart but after a while I felt kind of bad for him since this man is our president and he has the speaking skills of a mentally disabled dolphin. By feeling bad I mean clapping and laughing profusely at his ineptness. Maybe next time they'll give him three lifelines and let him use his book.

3. I have no sympathy for fascists, in fact, I'm anti-fascist!
I feel a total disconnect as an American having George W. Bush and the neo-conservative cabal in his administration take US further and further to the RW agenda, which really is fascism, jjs, don't you agree?

4. I couldn't even watch the whole thing.
I became physically ill every time that ignorant , arrogant, little moron opened his mouth. It's no wonder that the US has become the most hated country on the planet.

7. Its that SMIRK that got to me.
Like he is the MAN; and how he condenscends to us.... like he is talking to children. Perhaps this is why he loves to visit schools so much, same level.

11. Me too.
I made it through half the conference. That's a record for me. Usually I flip after the first 30 seconds. My skin crawls.

There is something so utterly repulsive about that arrogant little prick, it's hard to put into words how much contempt I feel when I see that beady-eyed, vacant-stared, lipless face of his.

9. The Connecticut Cowboy is really just a Crazy Monkey.

Only an insane moron could behave like George W Bush.

As a child, people could tell he would do things...

10. I yelled at the t.v. a lot!
I felt like I was one of those WWF fans.. yelling like that. At around 2/3 into the whole charade, I noticed that Bush was getting tired, impatient, and irritated. His body language started to sag, and he was sighing audibly, and becoming more confused. This whole presidential facade must be quite tiring for someone that has no interest in it. He needs a vacation.. How about sometime around January, 2005??

15. Depressed as hell for the US, and worried for the rest of us.
The prospect of a Bush news conference tonight got me thinking about what could have been, and what was not allowed to be:

"Is not peace, in the last analysis, basically a matter of human rights - the right to live out our lives without fear of devastation - the right to breathe air as nature provided it - the right of future generations to a healthy existence?" - John F Kennedy, American University Address, June 10, 1963.

More than 40 years ago, and there was hope and substance to those words. Khrushchev and Castro saw a partner for peace. Backchannel diplomacy began to hum. The Cold War could end. The militarists trembled.

And then he was killed. And we know enough to know by whom. And what began in Dallas - the rise to unassailable power of the military/industrial National Security State - has reached its monstrous, inevitable end in Bush.

From "the United States, as the world knows, will never start a war" to "I'm a war president." It's just so fucking sad we've lived to see these days.

...

"What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children--not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women--not merely peace in our time but peace for all time."
