A Hallucinogenic Tie?
A tie causing hallucinations on your color television, meant to divert your attention from the words that were mangled.
Tell me I not the only one that noticed.

1. the tie has been the topic of much discussion
My husband's theory was that his disintegrating liver set the tie on fire.

Other ideas?

2. My 74 year old mother said...
You'd think they'd get him to wear a different tie!!! My dad has Alzheimer's, and after hearing me mock the TV for half an hour, he said "this guy is really stupid!" Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did he answer ONE question?

Next time, can we just ask Karl Rove the freakin' questions???

:grr:

3. Yep, saw it.
All the colors were like, really far out, man. So hypnotizing. Every...thing....OK...must...trust...president...

Far out, like, I just realized I love Big Brother.

5. It was meant to hypnotize you
to believe his crap.

I think if you record the conference and play it backwards, it is probably full of messages from satan.

8. I couldn't watch long enough to be hypnotized by the tie
but it was a weird one. Shiny and ugly. I couldn't watch long enough because I can't stand looking at the smirk that is a permanent part of his face.

7. some vidcaps here

It's because of the small black and white pattern on the tie he wore and rgb scanlines.

9. Guess they fired all the technical people.....
the tie was an obvious mess, and every time Bush touched the podium, my subwoofer nearly shook the house down...

11. Has nothing to do with the color
It's aliasing caused by spacing of the pattern interacting with the spacing of the horizontal scan lines of the TV signal. It's very basic too, you'd think the handlers would have known ahead of time, unless for some strange reason it was intentional.

13. Welcome to DU gmaki!
I think it was intentional- some sort of
secret sign to the R-wing Fundies!
His speech was full of code-talk, or blasphemy to
the church of satan, so I figure the tie was some
sort of sign to them too....
BLEH!

14. yes, that is a basic
Years ago I worked in PR and there were a few basics that everyone knew. That's one of them. You simply do not wear, for example, a black and white checked suitcoat on TV.

15. Are you referring to modulating the wave forms?
Or the 25th scan thing? They do work, most of the time.

16. I thought it was intentional. Distract people with his tie
and a glaring floodlight won't be shining on his incompetence.
