Bin Laden in captivity
The only significant words in Bush's speech were these three: Osama Bin Laden. He hadn't mention him in more than a year. This and the fact that the military announced last week that Bin Laden is no longer expected to be captured within the year (to make the capture even more spectacular and genuine) convince me that Bin Laden is in US custody and the capture will be announced very soon. Rove is too clever to wait until Sept. or October.

2. October for sure.
He's hurting way too much in the public eye to "waste" such a good "capture." It'll happen JUST in time for him to take credit, but not so far from election day that the dust can settle and reveal the man behind the curtain.

5. He couldn't avoid mentioning Bin Laden
Since he released the PDB this weekend.

And one of the weirder moments was when he deflected the question "will you apologize" by blaming Osama:
"Here's what I feel about that: The person responsible for the attacks was Osama bin Laden. That's who's responsible for killing Americans. And that's why we will stay on the offense until we bring people to justice."

Note how he sidestepped promising to bag Osama.

8. Add this to the heaping pile of "Bin Laden in Custody" posts.
Who knows? But I have to say I think it's ridiculous to rule it out.

Many a DUer has said the same; we have yet to see what the July/September/October Surprise reveals.
