On the front page of EVERY newspaper in Ohio tommorow
It's a sad day.

1. The news whores will be all over this kids family
lining up on the street to get coverage of the crisis, bugging them for interviews, using them to get ratings. Just watch. I cant even imagine what the family is going thru, this kid is a kid, and the same age as Michael. Just a kid, kidnapped , for nothing. For
nothing.

2. and he said on the video
according to what I heard on the radio, that he didn't want to go there in the first place. He has a wife and 10 month old child. He would rather have stayed with his family.

3. I'm ASHAMED to say the thought ran through my head
the potential political gain democrats can have from a state Bush almost definetly needs. However it's just wrong. And that's why I was ashamed. I'm pretty sure this is what this thread is about as if it's ok to think like that. Sorry I just disagree.

14. Whaaaaat?
You're positive that this thread is driven by the low thoughts that are causing you to self-flagellate in shame? B-i-z-a-r-r-e.

Hey, it's healthy that you're aware of your own demons, but don't foist them on us, okay?

4. There was a mother on MSNBC today whose son has to stay longer
in Iraq. The 'stroking' anchor fed her a line about being so supportive of his mission. She was silent for a few seconds and then started to mouth off about how she disagreed with this whole war and Bush's starting this, etc. The anchor started badgering her with "but don't you support your son...you must support your son" until she said "she supported him"...and then of course, anchor tried to spin that into "another satisified mom who supports Preseeedent Boosh". They will milk this guys family for all they can get. They know that it's a bleak moment for the USA but they also know that keeping this focus on Iraq means support for Bush in November.

19. So" supporting the troops" means
sending them off to die for oil and reconstruction profits that enrich the very few?

I'll have to ask that no one ever "support" me in the same way!

7. So Sad
This is so sad.

I live in Dayton and am familiar with his hometown; it's a Cincinnati suburb and a Repug stronghold as is most of southwestern Ohio. I'll bet his family and friends will support this unjust war and Shrub.

Kinda like the other hostage who worked as a truck driver for Halliburton. I saw a film clip where (for some reason) a reporter asked his former Social Studies teacher for her views. She said something like this: I believe we should be fightin' Saddam Hussein because if we weren't over there, they'd be over here. This was his SOCIAL STUDIES teacher, for cryin' out loud!

Go figure.

9. This guy lives in Batavia, a suburb of Cincinnati, which is like
15 minutes from where I live. Maybe something like this that hits close to home will crack our city's right wing shell.

10. so, will Bush * - Crashcart Cheney exploit this?
I fear for us all as to what this evil power-mad gang will do ... not only between now and election day ... but, afterwards, too, especially if we can beat the money, power grid outages, Diebold, and anything else planned to be thrown at us.

13. I hope that they release him
This is sad, and hard on his family. He's the same age as my son.

GD Bush!

I'm not usually one for hating people, but * deserves to come back in his next life as an Iraqi fighting in the war (which will probably still be going on).

21. Vietnam Flashback
Seeing the haunting look in this kid's eyes.
Its familiar, so when can we say this War is looking more like Vietnam?
Bush should have been there too. He hid himself away, much like how George hides himself away in Crawford nowdays.
What a sorry s.o.b. we have in the White House.
