Will there be any Personal scandles regarding Bush in '04??
I'm curious. The republicans have been left alone to rape the hell out of the Dems; and yet, with a known drunk, drug user and the issue of AWOL and an abortion swirling around in 2000, the Dems put their dainty hankies to their nose and did a "pass". I wonder, seriously, if they learned anything? Yep, Gore won but the real story was that this pathetic make-believe cowboy did as well as he did. How different would it have been if there were certain personal issues raised? Bush's whole presidency is based on this idiotic fallacy by the right wingers that he's "a good, Christian, decent man" (in fact that is exactly what Dee Dee Myers said). I wonder if this time something might 'squeak' out to the press?? You can bet the repukes will do it to our candidate even if the repukes have to make it up, put lipstick on it and shove it in front of the cameras. I really, really, seriously wonder if the DNC has been doing some detective work ..........

1. No
Even if a scandal were to surface the Coporate Media would all but ignore it. The Dems wouldn't touch it so it wouldn't even reach the "some Democrats" level let alone a full blown scandal.

The media are still total sycophnats to the Former Governor of Texas. Exmple: just before he went on (yet another) vacation he had his annual physical... the CNN whore said he gained 5lbs & then breathlessly assured us that it was all muscle mass. :puke:

10. I concur
I would add that if the media allows anything to surface it will only be to later accuse the Democrats of being whiners capable of underhanded tactics. It is regrettably a no win situation and I would look to Dems taking the careful approach (and I don't blame them). Barring a smoking gun such as Bush himself discovered with a crowbar breaking into DNC headquarters, I don't think we will be going there.

Besides folks, didn't anyone tell you he brought honor and dignity back to the white house. (God I hope that we win the next election just so I never have to hear that again).

2. I doubt it
If the press brings up any of the old scandals, they'll have to explain why they covered it up the first time around.

5. I agree. Anything new surfacing now would be discounted as
pure politics. We had our best chance with AWOL, DUI and drug use in '00. However, I don't think it would hurt if we picked those unresolved issues back up, dusted them off and paraded them out again.

3. I don't believe that he can be brought down by personal scandal
What is needed is a CONCRETE failure of something that shrub has taken a policy stance on. The failures of Iraq have not stuck to bush because he has blamed the Pentagon or the CIA.

This is related to the same reasons that he gives so few press conferences and the public's expectations for him is set so low. Shrub is really hot on things like faith based inititives, protecting marridge or fighting an ineffective war on AIDS in Africa. If something like religious bigotry or a hate crime surfaces around something he supports I say take him down.

6. I think it would...
these things play in the South
example: Jimmy Carter winning the whole South after watergate.

In the very least, it would decrease voter turnout among social conservatives.

9. That's why they are scared
of the case that Kerry is building based on inside info from Rand Beers and others.

11. You don't need a "personal scandal!" His scandalous behavior in office
should be enough to get thinking people to vote against him.
