5. Now, now! We can't exercise "the soft bigotry of low expectations"!
We need to let him stand on his own merits. that's compassionate conservatism at work!

4. I believe it
I talked with two people today about chimpy - one asked "did they ever find weapons in Iraq". A chance for me to inform and it was a success. When I was done, he stated there's something wrong with our government and he's not voting for chimpy again. Another is active duty military and loved chimpy, now feels betrayed and is just plain pissed off.

That was in 8/01. It's now 47 to 40 for someone else. That's still pretty good.

9. No, re-read it. 47-40% was 7-03-03. Now (8-01-03) it's 36-42%.

10. I'm sure they didn't display it at all.
I only discovered it by accident when I decided to look at the "Bush vs..." section of Pollingreport.com. I usually go straight to their "Bush approval" page and don't even look at this.

"We don't report. You decide."

12. I'm as thrilled as anyone else when Bush gets scr*wd
But that's 8/01. There are no figures for 8/03 that I see.

I still insist that 47% is ghastly for a "popular" president.

18. OOOOPPPSSS!!! I'm sorry. I think wryter2000 is right!
Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up. I think wryter2000 is correct. I was reading 8/01 as the most recent poll released (as in 8/01/2003), being compared to one from last month (7/03).

I screwed up! For whatever reason, they're comparing it to the poll from 08/2001 (that's two year's ago).

Still, like wryter2000 says, 47 tp 40% ain't great for a sitting "wartime" pres.

19. Yeah, so the numbers on FOX are not too low, but consider the
FOX factor...if Fox has anything to do with a poll, you know it's fixed-skewed-rubbed-tarnished-massaged-cooked, so it's lower than they report.
