CNN commercial "Is Howard Dean too Powerful?"

I don't know what show this was a commercial for but I saw it on the TV at the gym (I didn't have the sound on).

I'm not a Dean supporter but what in the crazy hell is that all about? What kind of a stupid question is that? Seriously, unless I missed something in hearing what the announcer of the commercial was saying, I can't see any reason why they would have phrased that question. The one good thing about all of this inter-democratic squabbling is that it shows no one person is more powerful than the next and that we are living in a democracy.

Has it come that far that such a concept is so foreign?

"Will Howard Dean run away with the democratic nomination?"
"Is Howard Dean the one?"
"Will Dean take it?"

The possibilities are endless. I just thought the way they phrased it on screen in big bold letters was silly.

3. certainly an ironic use of "power"

The power of a Dean or Kerry or even Big Dawg at this point is so david-esque compared to the disgusting goliaths we have to fight every day in the Bush Regime.

EVEN if Dean doesn't get the nomination (which i hope he does, and relatively unscarred) maybe some or most of the newbies he's gotten back into the political fray will at least vote for our guy.

I just wish we'd all concentrate on keeping Dean and Kerry in good shape, whether they are our first choices or not, if either is the nominee, we'll rue the day we took them apart.

Howard Dean is no more--nor no less--powerful than any other Dem. candidate in the race. Too powerful for whom? The Occupied West Wing? I'd hazard to guess that several of our candidates would fit in that category. The DLC leadership? My feelings--from an erstwhile DLC supporter, by the way--about their current attitudes are well-documented. Since it's very likely that someone other than their "favorite son" is going to get the nomination next year, they need to get with the program on several levels...and fast.

Dr. Dean still needs to do some refinement of his message and how he sends it, but his popularity is not an accident--and if he can find a way to consistently reach the "swing" voter, neither would his getting the nomination, nor having a realistic chance of unseating Dub next year, be an accident.

They were commenting on the fact that the primary season is so short and so close to being here.. They said that if he remains strong, "they" may not be able to stop him..

The "they" referred to was the other 8 candidates.. She said they might not have tme enough to mount a Stop Dean campaign :

referring to W's reselection - as his numbers were dropping. Note: he was not billed as a GOP pollster, but as a USA Today's pollster. Sometimes is subtler, but you'll note that the obligatory POV in all media's commentary is "Us vs Them" where Us=bushco. We are the enemy.

He has been the first to run political ads in the following markets - Iowa, Texas, NH, and Boston.

The DLC Dems are really upset - thus holy Joe's crapola yesterday.

For months they (Fineman and Orin) promote Dean's candidacy and now they say "Dean is unstoppable." (Judy Woodruff must read Orin's NYPost column).

Nothing to see here. The corporate media is just doing their job. Trust them.
