I am conflicted....
...about which Dem candidate is the best one?

Gephardt has too many skeletons
Lieberman needs to come clean and join the GOP
Kucinich is unknown (I love his passion however)
Dean has been portrayed as too liberal (I too like his fire)
Edwards is seen as a lightweight
Kerry hasn't made enough noise
Clark won't commit

I need to hear a "viable" candidate get fired up about the issues. I need a candidate to say the "un-say-able" things. I need to hear a candidate 'lay it down'. I need to hear a candidate get mad about this crooked administration and it's illegal power-grabs. I need to hear a candidate tell me that he's going to lead this country out of the darkness and on to a brighter future. I need to hear a candidate tell me that he doesn't believe the corporate media.

I want these facist thugs out of power. I want the constitution re-installed. I want my rights re-instated. I want every frickin' member of this current administration investigated. I want every one of *'s EO repealed. I want Reagan's papers released. I want Cheney's energy meetings minutes and notes released. I want the GOP so shamed, humbled and throughly rebuked that they won't be able to think about a serious WH bid for DECADES.....

I WANT A FUCKING FIGHTER!!!!!
I WANT SOMEONE TO "BRING IT ON"!!!

Who's it going to be? I don't have much money but I will give what I can to get this country back with an intelligent, thoughtful and purposeful President at it's helm....

This is a very dangerous time for this country and this planet. We cannot simply sit on our hands and hope that things will get better. They won't. This illegal administration stole it's way into power and they will not simply hand it over. We must be prepared to fight. Hard and dirty if necessary. We need some leadership. Real leadership. The Democratic party may have a big tent, but unless everyone covered by it's shade sticks together and pulls in the same direction at the same time it won't matter. We must unite behind a solid leader. We must present a united front. We must never give up. The time for action is now. History will not forgive us if we do nothing.

It's time for us to stand up and be counted.

Who will lead us??

Who?

2. I think Edwards and Kerry
are the two strongest candidates.

Are you in Britain? Your handle is truebrit, so I wondered.

9. I agree completely but change the order.
It should be Kerry and then Edwards. Just joking . . . sorta. I would be happy with either one.

5. Dean CAN counter the too liberal label
and he's most definitely saying "BRING IT ON" LOL
I think you should give him a closer look. Did you watch him on Larry King last night? My dad looked at me and said..."that was an actual honest answer!" I'm more than willing to answer any questions about him. Send me a PM if you'd like.

6. watch Edwards over the next 2-3 months
you'll see your fighter and one who does not get nervous and edgy in public. Hes smooth, natural, adament and he's not the lightweight some seem to think he is.

But see for yourself and don't be so quick to require that this campaign get going too soon. Summer is a time to raise some money and get the field forces organized. Fall is when you get to work.

Fall is coming.

8. I agree, Edwards is waiting for the right time...
to begin his ad blitz. He got cash, but it's too early to spend it.

11. central
Richmond area.

The bad thing about the internet is that it demands instant gratification. If some candidate isn't doing SOMETHING every hour then people get bored and start making demands.

You cant and should not try to force the calender on political matters. The "People" have attention span issues as regards things that they don't like but are forced to deal with, like politics and elections. If you start too soon you just waste effort.

10. Everything you've just said
Makes me absolutely positive that Dean is your man. He's the ONLY viable candidate speaking up like you want, the ONLY viable candidate with the fire in his belly, the ONLY one who sees what's wrong the DLC lockhold on the Dem Party.

Edwards and Lieberman and Kerry ALL are being coached and/or advised by DLCers. That's not what you're looking for, at all.

http://www.deanforamerica.com and be sure to check his Official Blog (link on the left) and keep checking it at LEAST daily. Read some of the Comments too -- this is an INTERACIVE campaign!

13. Eloriel, doesn't it bother you even a *little* bit to be that dishonest?
Dennis has been out in front on these issues for almost 2 years now, long before he decided to stand for President. And he's completely 'viable', thanks.

Play fair, why don't you.

16. I'm really interested in what he has to say...BUT..
..is he 'viable' or has the right-wing media been successful painting him as being "too liberal"?

14. Nothing specific..
..but I have a sneaking hunch that if he were to get the nomination we would start to learn all sorts of interesting things about him, particularly in his relationships with Unions..Plus his performance as *'s bitch after authorizing the illegal war made my skin crawl..

18. I've never heard a word about Gephardt having skeletons
If anything, I had the impression that he was as bland as macaroni and cheese.

Lately, though, he seems to have a good deal more fire. I was favorably impressed with him when he appeared at the Children's Defense Fund forum with the other Democratic candidates.

He's able to back up what he says, and he scares the shit out of the Republicans.
