Leon Panetta returns to the fray
Watch for him to emerge on Friday as a candidate on the CA ballot.
Watch for him to win becuse the Republicans will dield at least three candidates.

Watch him be on the short list for Veep in a year's time.

3. The buzz in CA
iS that neither Feinstein or Voxer want the job...but that maxine Waters is threatening to run if no one steps up.

Several editorialist in the central Valley are saying that Panetta is the logical choice.. and has no allegiance to Davis.

He sort of pooh poohed the idea when asked last week....but left huge barn doors open.

4. Panetta could be short listed
by any of the hopefuls for Veep

Particualrly since there is not a westerner in the bunch.

He is Catholic.. I doubt that would hurt him. The downside is that while he is probably a good balncer on fiscal matters he does not have the chops on the international side. So he'd make a good RM for Graham or Kerry as opposed to Dean Lieberman ore Edwards.
