Willie Brown hits the notes with Wolf
He's saying how important it is for the pugs to get one of their own in.

Destabilize Cal for the dems.

Says Issa pulled out at the orders of the Whitehouse.

Issa was a stalking horse for the pugplan, and, having done its bidding, is now forced out

Arnold hides behind homilies, and the press needs to make him speak in detail, unlike what happened with Reagan.

The Whitehouse lost Cal by more than a million votes, but sees this as a huge chance to gain its electoral votes in 2004.

Blitzer carrying pug water, as usual

Brown: not happy with dems breaking ranks, pugs have better control over their candidates than dems

and Brown was "speculating," as it were

but the case he made was compelling for WH (Rove)involvement in this, just as they were the motive force behind DeLay's sleazy redistricting attempts in Texas.

it would be interesting to see if some enterprising reporter would bother to take the initiative, though

but almost all of them are like Margaret Carlson, who whined about the current admin's unwillingness to talk to them about anything, therefor reducing them to mere (willing) stenographers for WH press releases.

she did that on CSPAN the other day, as a member of the panel with Joseph Wilson, discussing the WMD issue. she was ineffably pathetic, slamming the Clinton admin for being TOO open, before crying about those nasty, closed-mouthed oldsters in the chimpadmin

9. yepyepyep
does anyone here seriously DOUBT that Rove is behind this?

remember that Atwater, his pal, tried to keep WJC out of the primaries, back in 91 or 92.....see THOTP for that story.

their tentacles reach everywhere, and they'll stop at nothing.

Riordan is very pissed off at all this Schwarzenegger hype, from what I just saw on TV.

recall that the WH was behind him in the primaries, cause they knew he was a much more viable candidate than idiot Simon, but the nutballs controlled the primary process there.

they're able to bypass the democratic process now, and have deemed Arnold more electable than Riordan; so he's out the window, and not happy about it
