Like I was saying, could Gore chair the DNC?
Many of us (including myself, to an extent) don't like much of what Terry McAuliffe has been doing. So I've been thinking: If he won't run for President, perhaps Al Gore should chair the DNC.

Look at his credentials: He won more votes than any other Democratic Presidential candidate in American history. He (almost) won the state of Florida, where his opponent's brother was Governor. He served his country in Vietnam, even though he opposed that war. He represented Tennessee in the House (1977-1985) and Senate (1985-1993) before becoming President. He and his wife, Tipper, have written two books (okay, so one was a picture book). The list goes on and on.

"With all due respect" to chairman McAuliffe, what has he done?

So... what do you think?

1. Not a bad idea
I've been screaming about McAulliff since the mid-term elections. I've also been screaming a Daschle for many of the same reasons. A change at the top is definitely in order and Al might be a good choice.

3. It would be below Al to chair the DNC.
Let me just say, first of all, I definitely love Al Gore, but I just think that it would be below him to chair the DNC. Al Gore is much better in elected office than he is as an Apple board member, Columbia journalism professor, and whatever else he is up to.

7. Well, he could do a lot to improve the DNC.
If they won't make him President, he could at least chair the DNC.
