Bob Hope Is In Hell
Very little that Fred Phelps does surprises me. This one did catch me by surprise.

1. The philosophy on Phelps
All this delightful "man of the cloth" does is make controversial people and topics seem more acceptible. He is social death wherever he goes. Even very conservative people refuse to accept his "help." One day he is going to claim the wrong person is in hell, like "fag lover' Chimpy McBusherson (trust me...I can tell you-without going to his site to prove it-he thinks Bu$h is a fag lover). Then the guys in the black cars and mirror sunglasses are gonna put him in a world of hurt. Until then, though, laugh at his childish website, and at his vulgar obsession with "fags."

7. Phelps said of Bush in a linked interview...
"FRED: I agree it has to go on, but it doesn't reduce the evil and the animus of that insane little monster, Bush. I mean you've got a creature walking around with the mentality of a gnat with his hands on all that party."

Made me laugh!

Full interview at: http://www.blacktable.com/daulerio030401.htm But not much else interesting in the interview other than the Bush remark.

2. I now know the meaning of repulsion.

This man (?) will probably have a major surprise when he approaches the "Pearly Gates" 0f Heaven.

Wouldn't it be great if St. Peter said, "Fred, whomever wrote your Bible didn't hear God correctly... He said that in the Garden of Eden He created Adam and Steve."

See you in Hell Fred!

:evil grin:

3. Well, isn't that special
I never knew that Hope had done anything to piss off the Phelps freaks- that raises him a bit higher in my esteem.

12. Yeah, I've ran into his followers twice
Once at my brother's law school graduation at the University of Kansas (had signs saying, "Kansas Gayhawks"), and once in Tulsa when there was a gay pride picnic. At that one, I stood across from them with two signs - God Is Love and Fred Phelps Is a Wanker. Two or three of the guys were about to cross the street to come talk to me when I pulled out my torches and started juggling (in an attempt to draw attention away from them - which they hate).

10. What's really sad...the day Bob Hope died...
Edited on Fri Aug-08-03 12:21 AM by Rowdyboy
DU had several hateful threads about what a "'puke" he was. This board's response to his death really disappointed me. I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but no one should rejoice in the death of another, much less a cultural icon who has done so much good.

It was a very disillusioning day. As is today.

And we wonder why Democrats are in the minority...

11. Bob Hope was entitled to his conservatism.
He entertained our troops in places no sane person would go. He never forgot them.

This nation was designed so that the liberals and conservatives would each act as breaks and beta testers on each other. We need all the different viewpoints to be heard. If Hope saw a red, white, and blue world of lonely soldiers guarding the outposts against those who would harm us--well, he'd seen it and it was a worthwhile opinion.

He served this nation well. If he's in hell, there are palm trees, mirages, and young Dorothy Lamour smiling just out of reach.
