Harold Ford, Jr. (TN): Tell me more about this guy....

He's been on CNBC all morning with the strongly Republican Squawk Box crew and doing a very good job. I like his ideas and the guy is really sharp.

Anyone got some good background on him?

Being an African American complicates things enough do you think he would increase his chance by embracing the policies of Bernie Sanders.

Harold Ford is a bright guy. He comes from a prominent Memphis political family. He has the seat his father had. His father also was harrassed by the Reagan Justice Department . Do a google search.

I like Harold Ford... He's articulate...... GQ handsome..... and has a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

4. He's 32, his district is his dad's old one, and he's got a bright future.

He ran against Pelosi for minority leader in the house, which didn't win him many friends at DU. I'm not sure, but I think he expressed interest in running for the Senate seat in TN (he isn't though).

He's a moderate. Definitely. He is NOT a conservative--he's a southern Democrat. I think he was for the war also. He is also extremely ambitious.

But as you noticed, he is smart, not easily intimidated in spite of his age, and he's telegenic.

In my perfect dream world, Gore would be the president right now, with Edwards as VP and Edwards and Ford would run together in 2008. Ah well.
