Thinkin About Voting Larry Flynt October 7th -- Somebody Talk Me Out Of It

The theory being that if we're gonna pervert democracy, why not elect an actual pervert as a symbol of that foolishness. Now don't get me wrong, I'm no prude here, nor do I think that 'ole Larry's got much of a chance at attaining the California governorship. Nor am I a big fan of Gray Davis.

But there are NO NEW FACTS about Davis now, that we Californians weren't aware of when we voted him back in last November. This recall is another in an alarmingly long line of the rePuke\RatWing usurping actual demcracy. From the failed impeachment of Clinton, the stolen election of 2000, Black Box Voting, this current travesty, and everything else in between.

My brain says vote Cruz Bustamante and elevate a Latino to the Governorship. That would at least be reflective of current California demographics. But my raging broken heart doesn't want to dignify any of this immature rightwing horse****!!! (Almost forgot new rules, LOL!!!) And I think that a protest vote for Larry Flynt, or even Mickey Mouse, would send a message of how assinine this whole thing is. I know, I know.... An assinine act, to make an assinine point, and all that... But cripes man, I HATE that the rightwing has us all jumpin through hoops, and fallin all over each other less that a year after this matter was DEMOCRATICALLY SETTLED!!!

As of this moment, there are between 400 and 500 candidates signed up for this recall race. How they are gonna print up a ballot that will fit on the punchcard voting booth platform without it being the thickness of a friggin telephone book is beyond me. They will not have all precinct voting places open for this vote, you will have to thumb thru many pages just to get to the 'S's even if one wanted to vot for Ahnolled, and there are still more than 24 hours left to let even more idiots sign up for this cabal.

I'll probably punch out the chad for Cruz... probably... But between now and October, I'm supporting Larry Flynt. He's no more of a joke than the rest of them!!!

Is an entirely appropriate and sane response to the California election.

Gallagher: He will Be Absurd, wield a big hammer and make a mess. He is a natural politician and has more practice at it than many others.

Flynt: He will burn through money like a drunken sailor on leave. He will also let fly with the gory details. He will sign bills surrounded by naked women spreading their genitalia broadly. He will be the envy of every other politician in the world.

I got out of the Navy.

He is a warrior for the first amendment. He pushes right to the edge and ended up protecting all of our rights as a result. And after People v. Larry Flynt, a reporter asked him about the movie, saying that a lot of things cast him in a bad light. Flynt said, "There was a lot in there I didn't like but it was true so what are you gonna say?"

Hell, at least Flynt came to our rescue during impeachment. He showed the right-wing hypocracy evident all around, and helped bring down a rePuke Speaker of the House. That's a hell of a lot more than Dems or Progressives did at the time.

All kidding aside, y'all (Californians) do have my profoundest sympathy. I know that not all of y'all voted for Prop 13 that started yer state down the long slippery slide to the ultimate political freak show. And I'm sorry y'all are going to have to live with the consequences.

On the other hand, there's plenty of under-populated states that could really, really benefit from an infusion of well-educated, liberal, laid-back ex-Golden Staters. You might consider colonizing, say, Mississippi... or Texas...
