(GOP?)Lobbyists Donate Used Suits to Unemployed
Lobbyists Donate Used Suits to Unemployed
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Bring me your silk Armanis, your charcoal Hugo Bosses and your tailored Prada couture three-button suits. The American League of Lobbyists is urging members to give the shirts, suits, belts and ties off their backs - literally - to try to improve their image with the public and help poor people who need presentable clothing for job interviews....

We can be certain that these folks are 90% GOP since Tom DeLay has that rule that lobbyists may not lobby unless they have good GOP credentials!

:-)

2. What is the problem with this?
While I don't agree with their use of this as a PR ploy, how can it be argued that the act itself, individually-considered, is at all a BAD thing?

I simply think it would be much better if they just did this and didn't put out press about it. My complaint is with the self-serving attitude, not the act of charity itself.

4. I think that's a great idea....

...because when John Kerry is elected there will be a need for 10 million suits to give to the applicants of the 10 million new jobs that are created. The first people in line for the unemployed people's hand-me-down clothes will be George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condi Rice and Colin Powell. Behind those will be every GOP representative that we democrats can vote out of office. :dem: :kick:
