I Think Half Of The Posts Here Are From Republicans
I swear to Christ I believe that half of the posts on this board are from Republicans. There is more snide half truths that cast doubt on the Democratic party here than there are on the Free Republic site on some days, and today seems to be one of them.

9. True.
We have out work cut out for us here in NC though, judging by the bumper sticker count anyway.

There are far more Bush stickers than Kerry. Then again they have known who their candidate was since 2000. They have a bit of a head start in that respect.

5. Look, man
The Democratic Party frickin' ABANDONED us for a good two years- and they're STILL not totally back on track (although they're doing better). We're still angry.

Not too mention the lazy-ass DLC movement that lost us our power in the 90's. Thanks, Clinton!

Look, we're pissed, and we have a right to be. We're not unfair, we just want the damned party to get back with the program of actually helping the country's citizens instead of screwing around and playing Democrat while secretly whoring for corporations and ignoring the little guy.

OK? OK.

11. Look, man!
The Democratic Party didn't frickin' ABANDON us for a good two years. How do you figure that? You talking about two issues, right?

Considering the political climate from 9/11 - to very recently, there would be NO democratic party to speak of had they rocked the boat.

And remember, the "lazy-ass DLC" won the last three presidential elections.

Tell me - how many elections have more liberal candidates won?

The losses of the 90s can also be laid at the feet of lazy liberals who coasted on Clinton's popularity and who didn't fight the GOP smear machine. Those same liberals have started their own smear machine as well. Your post is a prime example.

16. For the record, I don't have a faction.
Also for the record, since the DLC came into power we've lost seats in Congress every election year, and we gave up the presidency. That is not a good track record.

As far as the rest of your post, where you try to say with a straight face that the DLC is who fights Bush- Trying to tell me that Joe Lieberman fights Bush harder than Kucinich does is just a joke. I'm sorry. Cuckoo!

Edited on Tue May-04-04 05:54 PM by wyldwolf
... and every election dems lost BEFORE the DLC? Who did you whine about then?

Burden of proof.

And we picked up house seats we weren't suppose to in '98.

The DLC won the presidency in 2000. Sorry. But you know that.

... Joe Lieberman is NOT the entire DLC.

But, again, DLC types (read - moderate Dems) do fight the Bushies. Kucinich is your only example?

Burden of proof.

#1 reason Mondale lost- The country was doing well before the election (besides, he was kind of a wuss- not really, though).

Alright, you want more examples, I got more examples:

Mondale? He was a wuss, too?

Dukakis? Wuss?

Enter DLC...

Now, Dems lose because of the DLC, NOT because they're wusses?

Or... are they?

Clinton (twice)

Gore (GOP had to cheat to take the election)

DLC...

Kerry? Bob Graham? John Edwards? Bayh? Hillary?

Close to 100 in the Congress... all losers, huh?

6. I agree, but not always. They are in the midst of one of their "Freeps"
That's my guess and I freely admit having no knowledge of it (I can;t even stand to LOOK at those Nazis for more than 5 minutes, anyway).

However, I might add that since the Busheviks put their Boot on our Neck and ended Liberty and our Old Republic, I have been at or greater than 90% in predicting events.

Which is NOT good. A person shouldn't be able to do that.

But my lifetime study of Totalitarianism (amatuer study, I'll confess) indicates a level of predictability not seen in Free People.

Once you start thinking like a Citizen of the Old Soviet Union (it's still early and the transformation is as yet incomplete, Thank God) suddenly you can predict events like Edgar Cayce (better than Cayce).

My point: The Freeps are currently plentiful. I think they ahve been monitoring Alexa and waiting for our traffic to dip before they began.

29. A wise observation, that explains a lot:
"my lifetime study of Totalitarianism (amatuer study, I'll confess) indicates a level of predictability not seen in Free People"

I've thought it uncanny, how gifted I'd become at anticipating events. Now I know why.

Scary. Because what I anticipate still to come is pretty damn awful.

I predicted during the blowjob crisis that there was something big planned that made it important for the Neo Cons to start playing by a different set of rules.

I knew after the 2k theft that that something was going to become clearer after Bush was swarn in.

Events just get easier all the time now. More so everyday.

George Seldes said that that was what it felt like to be a leftist in pree WW 2 Europe. They knew what was coming but no one would listen.

About half might be moles, but there's plenty of longtime people around here who have their own agenda. And it doesn't include Kerry or the Democratic Party and the only thing they know to do is attack, attack, attack. They ought to be able to advocate their own issues without ripping apart the only chance we have to get this country out of the hands of George Bush.

Anybody who comes here from the right to disrupt. Or the people on FreeRepublic, who I think call themselves Freepers.

Which is why I differentiated moles, because I think there's people on this board who are a whole lot slicker than that. They'll play the game, for a long time, and just sew the seeds of dissension.

And then there's our own DUers who have their own agendas and who play right into their hands.

And then there's the henny penny's who are just that way by nature.

All in all, it's enough to make me wonder why the heck I keep coming back!

23. Could part of it be the posting rules?
Post the most ludicrous conspiracy theories (the CIA planted explosives in the WTC the day before 9-11) and no problem, no banning, no deletions, but if you post something even vaguely offensive to an Irish-American lesbian cat owner or a transgendered postal worker coping with capral tunnel syndrome, and you could be outta here. The rigid rules of PC and the total tolerance of any and all crackpot posts is a bit of a problem.

Before I get flames, I will conccede that defining a crackpot post is HIGHLY subjective. A repuke would dismiss offhand the notion that Bush did anything less than everything in his power to prevent 9-11. I think it's clear he did NOT do everything in his power, and there is a remote chance that he deliberately let it happen.

But theories about all Jews skipping work at the WTC that day, or of the planes being remote-controlled are, IMO luidicrous, and might be methodically planted by 'pukes to make us look silly.

I don't know any transgendered postal workers who're coping with carpal-tunnel syndrome, though, probably because they suck big-time.

50. Let me put it this way...
I posted here for a long time (1000+) before refusing to back down over a silly overblown PC issue, and then I was no more.

I came back in another guise months later (also after a big move), but since coming back I seldom post in GD, and stay away from such topics. Mostly I stick with lighter topics in the lounge because it isn't worth it.

If somebody now wants to heads-up the mods and get them to do some research and boot me, they are more than welcome to do so, but they will be illustrating my point, that the range of opinion allowed is too narrow and too PC, and the rules too rigid. I only think rightwingers should be banned, but that's just me.

Again, Delano is not a sh*t-stirrer. This is probably about as controversial as my posts will ever get. I'll save my bile for the Yahoo boards, where I can say what I like.

Well, back to the lounge to talk about Meg Ryan's lip implants...

39. Its nice to see thinking people from time to time
After all, when the neoconservatives have finished wrecking the Democratic Party it will be the very few who saw it coming who will be most responsible for picking up the pieces and rebuilding.

Criticisms and honest debate are habitually seen as fifth column activity only by those who refuse to self critique, refuse to see the trends, refuse to hear their candidate capitulate to Bush almost daily but intend to remain loyally in acquiessence to a losing policy.

Im certain that the democrats will be able to defeat Jeb Bush in '08....well almost certain anyway...hell Bush is so abysmally stupid that he may defeat himself in November anyway.......
