It appears that Fred Barnes is incapable of telling the truth. They were discussing the alleged Saddam-al Qaeda link on Brit Hume's "Special Report" last Thursday. Fred could contain himself no longer at the outrageous "lie" put forward by the usually reliable Bush toady Juan WIlliams. So the following exchange took place:

WILLIAMS: Well, I think it’s true when says that President Bush led us to believe that somehow Saddam Hussein might have had connections to Al Qaeda—

BARNES: I think Bush said exactly the opposite, consistently! Exactly the opposite!


Is there any truth to what Barnes says here? What could he possibly be thinking? Is he woefully out of the loop or simply a bald-faced prevaricator?

When the US military announced that they'd killed Saddam's 2 sons, he exclaimed that 2/3 of the Hussein Regime had been eliminated.
